^^ That is what I’m going to end up doing. Just going to model up a set and print my own.

Sorry I just made mine from scrap laying around. Honestly it's pretty darn easy to make. Just mock up the shape you need then cut and sand. Drill/tap holes and your done.

Do you know if the tablet is in the way of the passenger airbag? I was gonna put my iPad mini on that side but figured it would be dangerous in a crash, plus it's more out of driving view.

passenger airbags come out from the top of the dash, not the front. so the tablet should not obstruct it in that position.

yes, I have done the mods

Are you just threading into the plastic, or did you print threads?

I started generating a 3D-printed version, too, here's what I came up with:

I went ahead and modeled the 1" ball as part of the unit, as I wasn't sure how threading into plastic would hold up with an iPad or something getting torqued around on bumps.

I was using a thread tap. Only printed the pilot hole for the threads.

Mine has held up fine. I have the 8" tablet on a 3" long RAM arm. It stays rock solid even on the rough trails.

Checking the existing crash test video, the passenger airbag does come out the top of the dash, but it expands in such a way as to fill the whole area in front of the passenger. There's a little bit of overlap with the center stack, but not much.

    https://youtu.be/WpInSey5f9g?t=39

It looks like it'll depend on how you adjust your mount arms and where you position your tablet. If you arm over way in front of the passenger, it could be an obstruction. As with all our mods, airbags are something to remain aware of. I have all these Tacoma crash test videos bookmarked so I can check stuff like this.

Unfortunately, I don't have a 3d printer or access to such devices hence why I was asking who is willing to make them. Oh well...:notsure:

anyways, consumer 3D printing is plastic, not sure how you'd reliably thread it for the ball mount to stay secure, maybe brass thread inserts ?

I need a set of these. If anyone actually sells them, please PM me a price. I really just need 1 to hold a tablet but i'll take both sides if needed.

If anyone is selling their truck and their set or a single mount let me know.... I’m interested. I don’t have access to a 3D printer or cnc.

Someone just needs to take this over and start making and selling them. U could tweak the design so its not exactly the same. Kind of what rtic coolers did to yeti!
