Made its way out of Texas and is in Kansas now, getting closer!

Jealous of all the Craigslist scores people get. Not enough to want to live in a Metro area again, but still there are some things I do miss.

Searching here using keyword Weber about all I ever come up with is this

Red Angus cattle bred by the stud bull "Weber" Night Train.

Not interested in a stud bull but now that I think about it, Weber meet Weber would work.

Friend sent a text asking about this grill. I’m a weber guy so all I have are kettles, wsm and performer.

    What do you all think?

@Sleipnir Got a similar Chargriller minus the fire box. Maybe he has some insight. VV

I have the older version of that Grill and bought the firebox as an addon. It's a great grille. If you are hardcore about grilling then watch some youtube videos on how to improve it like adding better gaskets around the grille to keep the smoke in. Havent had issues with rusting and Ive had it for about a year and sits out in the elements. Overall I am really happy with it!

@Texoma has the same one as me I think so he can talk more about longer use.

mats, flaps, and stickers. Extang solid fold 2.0. Mobtown sliders and full skids. AVS vents
I have the heavier gauge OK Joes. After mods, it’s a decent smoker for short smokes. Uses up lots of fuel for long smokes. The gas grill on mine is awesome, heats up to 500 in a minute or two, and is very controllable with three burners.

Any tips for chicken quarters on a weber kettle?

I've only done a few cooks on my kettle since I got in and they've gone pretty well. Venison sausages and centre cut pork chops twice. I've used kingsford and some lump, starting with a chimney and cooking with indirect. In general the lid temperature hasn't gotten above 400 with all the vents open but I assumed that was because I'm only piling the charcoal on one side.

I was planning on going lower than 400, but in general I was surprised that the kettle didn't get hotter previous times I've used it. Just need to cook more and get used to it I guess.
