The standard light that came with mine is hard wired, not battery. The Leer dealer who installed my cap wired it to my running lights. Which is ok if you get out of your truck and go right to you cap, but once the running lights shut off the light won't work. Which is not a big deal to me since I already have lighting. Here is pics of my lights. I did not install myself, had the local auto truck outfitters install them.D177B689-155F-4CD6-91ED-A654BDBFD285.jpg055114A3-22D4-4E2B-A517-B0F37E742E1D.jpg

Nice. Yea my dealer I guess for them the standard light takes 2 AA batteries. Too much of a hassle for that. Smh

Just FYI for everyone reading. The Leer install instructions call for tapping the running lights for the dome light. Which seems to me like a silly way to do it. But I suppose it's easier for installers, and probably results in fewer customers complaining about dead batteries from leaving the light on.

I drilled some holes and mounted a Vantech J1000 that's a 72 inch bar. Very low profile, I've put maybe 5k miles on it and there is no wind noise.

Anyone know roughly how much it costs to get a shell painted professionally?

I do have a few questions.

    1. The rubber trim/gasket piece along the bottom of the back window is ripped. Ive been looking for a source for a replacement with out much luck at the moment. Any suggestions?

    2. Has anyone installed the Pop & Lock keyless power lock on their shell? Part number PL9772. I have one on my tailgate handle which I really like, and would love for my shell to lock/unlock with the key fob as well as with the key.

    1. This place is one of the bigger parts dealers: http://www.truckoutfittersplus.com/store/topper_parts_topper_door_accessories.htm

    2. Not that it’s much help to you yet, but I have that pop n lock sitting waiting for me to find time to install it. I’ll let you know how it goes when I do.

I paid around $550 to have my ARE color matched... Maaco was a good bit cheaper, but I read mixed reviews on their quality/durability.

I think all of the major tracks are the same... Yakima and Thule tracks are the same style and will work with crossbar towers from either company.

Maaco painted my 98 Tacoma and did a shit job. I figure they can’t mess a camper shell up too bad. But if they do, I can do the touch up myself.

Just went with the 100R with their Acadia pack (thule racks, headliner, LED lights, gear net, removable front slider window, prop switch) also had pet screens added as well. Just over $2k installed. Pricey but tired of waiting for a used one I liked to come up.

Anybody have issues with leaking? Had the first rain since having my new Leer, it my bed is wet. The dealer/installer was decent about bringing it back in to do a water test. Just wondering if anyone had the same issues?
