Looking at getting some of these. What is the purpose of the longer studs?

 

For those using wheel spacers. It allows for more thread engagement of the lug nut.

The 1” longer ARP studs require an open end lug nut.

Why do you need longer studs for wheel spacers? Stock studs are long enough to bolt up the spacers. Also why would one need the ARP studs? They seem extremely long for wheel spacers. These are real questions as I have been curious about this for awhile.

 

I have aftermarket wheels that are very thick at the stud location. So it's not only for spacers. When I install mine, I'll take a cut off wheel to the studs where I need them but I'll get full purchase with the lug nut vs having about a 1/4" of full on thread from each lug nut.


IF... you choose to do this, then measure 2x and cut once. Install a die, or a grade 8 nut on the stud PRIOR to cutting to back off and fix, or "rethread " the stud before wheel install. If this doesn't make sense, or you don't understand what I'm saying then DO NOT attempt and please ask for directions first.

 

100% true here. The majority of people use the 1/2” longer studs with wheel spacers for the same reason. The wider the spacer, the less thread engagement on the lug nut. I have seen studs break/wheels come off from this.

The ARP’s are superior in strength and just look pretty.

 

Installed new wheel bearings and hubs this past weekend. Thankfully I got them in right away as passenger side was pretty much toast. Thanks again for the amazing product!

I just installed my new hubs last weekend and they are smooth as silk. I didn't realize how bad my old hubs were until I installed the new ones. No more noise or vibrations. These were well worth the wait. Thanks Kevin!

Ditto. Ordered April 12th. Was told they would ship last week.

I have ordered from him in the past and knew going in it would be about 3 or 4 weeks until I received them. Worth the wait if your bearings aren’t toast. Quality product but long lead times

 

That's fair, I've seen plenty of positive reviews so I'm not stressing yet, just anxious for them to get here!
