I've done so many jobs on springs over the years. Wish I had one for all of them. Definitely putting it on my list of wants. Thanks. Oh wait just saw they run about $200 to $300 so maybe not.

What's the increase in capacity of the dakars over the stock leaf pack?

I was thinking of removing the overload, but I've read a few different places the ride quality with the 3rd leave removed is really smooth

I removed the 3rd and installed a small block to maintain ride height... Way smoother. I rarely load the truck down, but I still feel as though I have more payload than stock.

I've been doing some more reading...

I have the new dakars and I got the el095rs.

So it looks like I don't actually have to do anything and im good to go.

I all I have is sliders. Don't rub anything on the bed. Just want to confirm the 2" of lift with the 095s and I should be good to go with the fronts set at 5mm

So my measurements before were just like the OP, 21 in the front and 22 in the rear.

I set my preload to 5 mm and went with the el095r’s in the rear. I am running just sliders with nothing added to the front or rear of the truck. I was planning on getting 2 inches of lift all around.

At the 5mm I got 22.75 on the drivers side and 23 on the passengers. I haven’t decided if I’m going to even bother trying to level it at all, with a spacer, or trying to adjust the preload. I really don’t want to take the shocks back out ha ha.

I ended up getting 23.5 on the drivers side in the rear and 24.75 on the passengers. That’s 1.5 inches of lift vs 2.75.... that’s a crazy difference and I’m still trying to figure it what’s going on. I double checked both lead packs. Both are definitially marked el095r, both are 0 and the arrows are pointing forward, and both have 6 leafs... I’m pretty irritated about it. That’s almost double the lift from one side to the other....

Overall the whole install took about 10 hours - I also put in the spc light racing upper control arms. Put about 50 miles on it and for it alighed today. Toe and camber to 0 and the caster at +1

FYI, caster needs to be 3.5* +/-0.5*

Maybe he said 3, or at factory spec, I'm not sure now... Just remember for sure he said camber and toe were right at 0

right now i have my compression at 0 and the rebound at 2.

overall the truck rides like stock on road and amazing in the little time ive been able to play offroad so far. the compression seems good given my very little added weight to the truck.

what is everyone doing with the rebound in relation to their compression? im planning on playing around with it a bit just wanted to ask. maybe a little harder, zeroing it out too, more rebound in the front compared to the rear?

after letting mine settle out, and fixed the rear end. here are my numbers
i dont know if im gonna bother doing anything to fix the lean on the front or not. i really don't want to take the shock back out just to adjust it a little bit

I had the install done about 1k miles ago on my 2015 DCLB 4wd and I’m having topping out issues.
I have both front coil overs set to 15mm, no additional weight up front. I’m curious, how much lift can I expect to loose if I were to set them at 5mm. Currently sitting about .25 inches lower on the left side, so I’m thinking 7mm left side 5mm right side. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

First post. Been lurking for a while. Just got my BP-51 kit installed and have the Taco lean as expected. Love the ride quality so far. Haven’t changed preload settings yet. Looking for a spacer to fix the lean. Anyone care to share a part number for the spacer you’re using?

You can't use a spacer in front with the bp51's, you can however space the rear driver side leaf. ToyTec has an option for this. Best bet is to adjust preload either higher on driver or lower on passenger or a combination of both

Ideally, you want a 6-7mm, or 0.25" differential in preload between driver and passenger side, with driver being more preload.
