I am thinking about taking a trip to Uwharrie this Saturday afternoon with my family for some hiking and possibly riding a trail or two. But since it will be my first trip and I have a stock 2017 TRD Off-road I wanted to see if there were any recommended trails I can navigate easily.

    Dutch is generally fine.

The hard trails are Dickey Bell and the front side of Daniel. Definitely go up the back of Daniel and checkout the view.

The hiking trails can be brutal they have no switch backs and are 400+ ft accents then deccents so if you have young kids stick to the trails around the paid campgrounds near where the lake picnic areas are. Those are easier.

@Pirate1975 will be there all weekend I am heading up Sun. morning and meeting him 9 am at the outpost to wheel. Hopefully a few others will join. There is a lot there that a stock truck can handle.

Thanks! I’ve heard wolf den is the easiest but was unsure where to go from there.

The maps for the hiking trails also really suck their key is way off as far as mileage goes. Took a group of scouts there and what was supposed to be a 7 mi. hike per the key was over 11 and all the boys were having trouble after about 8. Now these were 11 yr olds and older.

Rocky Mtn loop has a good hill section, that some find intimidating but they've filled in the large craters just past it.

Also, should I be concerned about tire pressure and what minimum recovery gear should I try to bring for wolf den, falls dam, slab pile?

Sorry I’m totally new to this.

A tow strap or ratchet strap will work in a pinch. It may be a little slick still because of the rain. If you are going to be there through the weekend and are nervous get up with @Pirate1975 and his buddy they may be hitting the trails Sat. and I will definitely be there Sun AM and me and @Pirate1975 will be running the trails then. You are welcome to join. The more the merrier.

Drop your pressure a little bit(around 25-30) for comfort but since you're stock you'll want as much clearance as you can get.

I ran 30psi on falls and wolf when it was dry the other week on my stock tires. 25psi is good.
I have a come-a-long(cable puller) and a tow strap at all times and a shovel! You should be ok doing the Rocky Mtn Loop also, but definitely want the 25psi or so..cell coverage is spotty out there.i have a silver 2017 Taco with ECU and some Pirate stickers.

It will probably be at least 2pm before we make it down there since my son has a tee ball game earlier.
