Really easy, taking out the intake filter box gives you some extra room to work!

Nothing on the taillight, but sprayed the bezel with spray-on bedliner from Home Depot. Just quickly hit them with some sandpaper and a few coats of bedliner for some matte black and texture to match my sliders and the plasti dip on the badges.

Did this awhile back and used Satin Black Derp to cover them. Love the look as I have Matte Black decals as well.

You think derp would work best? Or any satin black stuff? And did you do any prep work, or just lay em down and spray away? I've had mine for a couple weeks, weather just hasn't been nice enough to do any exterior mods. Wouldn't mind them being less glossy.

Thanks, I think @Blazingbluesport answered our questions about getting the app and the BT dongle to do this ourselves. Did you do that? Put the app on your phone and then get a OBD dongle from somewhere?

Nope, wasn't me. Can't take credit for someone elses knowledge on the subject. But thanks for the vote of confidence.
I learned about it much the same as you did, from someone with much more knowledge on the subject. That's why I love this site so much because I learn something new all the time. Some pretty smart folks here among us.

Going to have to reweigh my truck one of these days to see just how much weight it's gained since joining TW.
I might have to put it on a diet!

Do know which dongle you have, and I wonder how much it matters. I downloaded the app. It was free to download but my guess is there is a fee somewhere?????? when you go to use it????

Also, I wonder if a Toyota Tacoma dongle would fit a Lexus es300h ??????? I want to do them both!
