Are you guys drills the ends of the cracks or just welding over the cracks?

It seems like on these trucks once you develop cracks the heat cycle on the weld repair tends to lead towards the metal cracking again right at the weld.

If I can reach the spot with tools, I like to drill the end. Grind a slight groove into the crack. Weld over. Grind weld flat. Plate with 1/8 over.

Probably need a lot more info for anyone to bite lol. Who designed the kit? Travel? Width? Stock or race hubs? Shock sizes? Bypass capable? Uniballs or bushings? Steering? Has anyone used this kit?

i'm leaving tomorrow for a 4-day off-road trip to Nevada. I'll either look under it tonight and panic weld everything or not look until I get home. haha.

I’m really over welding these things... and I still have one more to do... just a side note...if you design sumthing... make it so you have minimal welding lol

Yes trace the cracks and drill a hole at the end. And grind a groove in the cracks and weld.

I'd like some too, where can we order some? I have the suspension off the truck right now, so getting these now would be perfect.

Parked since October last year. I really should cancel the insurance and satellite radio on it but I haven't since I'm hoping to get it running within the next couple of weeks.
