Finding that pefect exhaust note is like pissing in the wind with a 60 degree V engine. If it were a 90 degree block you might have a fighting chance. But the exhaust pulses are just too close together on a 60 degree V6

There's way too many cats on the internet to delete them all...

But, yes. Much disappoint. I was really hoping for flipped headers and hood exhaust. I'm disappointed in you OP. I thought you were trying to impress your friends. I see now that we cannot be friends. Good day to you.

    No, it's federal law.

Places like California that have emissions inspections are merely requiring proof of compliance with that federal law in order to issue registration. Just because OP's state doesn't require proof of compliance doesn't mean he isn't breaking the law (and then posting about it online).

The way I see this thread is that OP asked a question, got answers, and tries to defend his opinion. Why ask the question in the first place if you already knew you'd have a dissenting opinion about cats, CEL, and power numbers?

I can't believe what some people say on this forum... If you don't know what your talking about why give advice????!!!!

    OP,

Your not going to get rid of that CEL any way you do this without a tune...

The secondary oxygen sensors must read differently from the primary... Or you get that exact code...

Yes, your a/f ratio will be fine because you have left the location of the primary's in the stock location...

No cats means the exhaust is not being scrubbed downstream, and your secondary 02 is reading to close the same as the primary and your getting the code for a bad cat..... Because there isn't one..

    Really???

So those "post" sensors must just be for looks.. And to go bad and replace because they don't do anything...

there should still be a difference between the upstream wideband sensor and the downstream o2 sensor because there is a cat in between the two sensors that is converting per normal. exhaust is flowing one way, and the ecu has no way of seeing what is goin on beyond the last sensor. most sensor codes will give you the bank and the sensor location i.e. bank 1 sensor 2 for instance would be the downstream sensor on the driver side (pretty sure cylinder 1 is on the driver side and that would make that bank 1)

He said he cut the cats out...

Even if the truck has 4 cats and 2 are gone, he's going to get a code or what would be the point of the secondary 02 sensor?

    The difference is not enough..

Here you go. Pulled this from URD website. Their replacement Y pipe eliminates the 2 rearward cats.
