    Is there anywhere to approach the river below the dam besides the Little Hole area? I have always wanted to head down there but it seems like a long hike on shitty roads>

    Alabama Hills, one of my favorite overnight camp-stops when traveling the 395 and exploring the Sierras. One of the best easy access free camping areas along the 395!
