Aftermarket exhaust for 2.7L

i was wanting to do put a different exhaust on my taco, something with a little more sound and deeper tone but i dont want that nasty straight pipe like sound, any suggestions, what did u put on yours, single or dual, what did it cost?

 

I slapped on a Flow master 40 Series muffler. Most people with their Tacoma's swap out a muffler, mainly cause its cheaper, and its easier. If your looking for sound, the Flow master is the way to go, it gives a pretty good deep tone. If you want performance, I believe a Magnaflow would do you good.

 

I just got duals put on mine yesterday, i put on a glasspack with just a y pipe after it. its pretty loud but i love it personally

 

i had magnaflow muffs on my old Mazda RX7 great sounding mufflers come to think of it...I'm gonna put one of those bad boys on my Taco

mines the same with 2.5" tube and i just got a header

 

With the dual exhaust do you notice any difference in performance?

I read on flowmasters website that the classic 40 series muffler was the muffler for u if u wanted to here your truck from theinside and out. Is the classic 40 series what most people put on there tacos, how is that drone noise at bout 55mph for those of u who have the mufflers, thanks for your imput

 

The 40 series groan is pretty bad imho, but if you want the sound you turn up the radio

 

ever thought of wicked flow? there is a group by that will be ending the 21st

 

Yea haha, I think they have like a 50 series that is supposed to not be quite as agressive sound but not have as bad of that droan noise, has anybody tried those?

Nah from what I could tell from driving it after it ran just the same if not maybe a tad better but that could just be me enjoying the noise . plus I love the look of duals

 

does anyone know where i might obtain a front exhaust pipe to replace the wonderful catalytic converter california has deemed i need?

Go to an exhaust place and get them to make you the length of pipe that you need, should be cheap. Don't let them over charge you, this should be well under $100 but exhaust places are notoriously crafty. To get away with the loss of the front cat you need to simulate the rear O2 sensor's voltage reading.
