I'm currently debating which lift to install on my 07 Tacoma Prerunner... It is 2WD so I'm not too worried about "bottoming-out" the suspension with spacers, however I dont want to go cheap and damage my truck. Would spacers be the way to go or should I spend the additional money and install the coils/shocks?..... Any advice is much welcomed.....

Has anyone heard of 2in lifts? (I called the local 4 wheel parts store in tucson and they told me they only did 2 inch lifts)

Anyone In Tucson area know of a good shop to install lift that doesnt charge an armload?

    dont get a spacer lift

and dont let 4 wheel parts sell you anything or touch your truck

get a complete OME set up and call it a day

Hey man, I bought a lifted Tacoma with the spacer lift on it. Looks great and fits the tires but I can feel every crack in the road. Hard to drink coffee on my way to work and my wife can barely txt when riding with me. Went wheeling with it a couple times and it was not enjoyable. There doesn't seem to be any damage but the ride sucks. Currently looking to get 5100 all around and lift the front that way or some good coilovers (Icons or SAWs) and be good to go.

    Good Luck!

Don't be in a rush to lift your truck. Save up and do it right the first time.
Coils is the way to go, avoid the spacers!!

All good info here in the thread; I agree with nelson, go with the OME setup.

spacer lifts are never the way to go imo, they wont exactly damage your truck although they will put added stress on your coils, balljoints, etc.

thanks for all the feedback... so spacers are officially OUT of the question for me, thanks again... i was quoted with an OME set-up, parts and labor at $1271 after tax... I guess after I buy some tires i'm looking at about $2200+... sound right?

absolutely not..OME kit itself is only 700, plus you can get a discount for being a forum member. if they want 500 to install, they can stick it
