I started another little project to keep the ball rolling. I picked up some 3/16” drops from K&K. These pieces will be used for the inner gussets of the trailing arm. I drew everything out and used a cutting wheel to cut everything. Trying to make sure every cut is perfect. Making sure all the tabs will line up and keeping centered and squared. Each piece has to be no larger then 2” because that’s what I designed everything to. A lot of them are pretty close to 2” staying with in 1.996 to 2.000 I only got about half ways done. I still have another 7 sets to go.

I got some sample vinyl from PRP seats and decided to toss the black out and add some color. Here’s the new seats. I’m liking the feel of the vinyl that they sent me. They don’t feel to slippery. Now to save up and make the seats a priority.

The new radiator showed up. It’s going to be a while before I install it because I need a few more parts before I do. (Transmission cooler, thermostat, fan shroud and new hoses). Main focus is the seats and tube for the cage right now.

:woot: Ordered the seats. After talking to Scott at PRP he suggested that I go with the standard seat size because of the 1st gen small cab size. Plus he said the mounts they sell are for the standard size seats that mount at 14” width. The wide seats mount at 16” width. He said I would have to run longer bolts with spacers or modify the mounts. So instead to doing that I went with the standard size. I guess this boy needs to start running some laps :p

Yeah, I didn't get that memo when I ordered the wide seats. They're still in the boxes at this point.

Congrats on getting your seats ordered bud.

The tube is ready for pick up. Big thanks to Corey at Insain Fab and his efforts searching and getting a deal. He’s been a big support in all this. He’s also going to let me borrow his tube bender so I don’t have to dish out 800-900 (dies and bender) for one. I finially cut the “C” pillar holes in the cab. 4 in the back of the cab and 2 in the floor over the frame.

Found something I need to take care of before I start the cage. My rear cab mount is going to need to be modified before I have the “C” pillar tube in the way. The idea I came up with is fairly simple.

I’m going to remove the factory mount. Drill a 1 3/4” hole for a piece of tube. Weld the tube to the top of the frame mount. I will weld the cab to the tube where I drill the hole and plate it all in. Once the “C” pillar tube is welded in and I plate the floor back I’ll gusset the floor to the “C” pillar tubes. Once that’s all done I’ll pull out the torch and cut most of the lower part of the gussets on the cab and frame mount to open it up a lot more for the lower link.
