The drive from Granby to just outside of Jackson hole is flat and boring. That is all. Heading to Missoula tomorrow.

You missed the sand dunes, the Oregon trail (and a bunch of other trails), could've went and saw sinks canyon.... The trip is what you make of it. #overlanding minus one point.

If you're looking to get rid of someone without consequence... Look up the lawless zone of Yellowstone. It's on your way and you in theory can get away with murder (without being rich).

Yeah, this is a out and back trip unfortunately. We wanted to stop by Yellowstone on the way back but it's supposed to rain that day so skipping that as well. Don't worry, once the house is sold we will be exploring this area a lot. Pinedale, WY is a nice little town. We have seen multiple RZR's driving up and down the street which is just awesome. Did a quick zillow search and there is a house nearby on 35acres with a big work shop for $300k

Rain is exactly the time to go... Fok the crowds of people. You'll learn on the road that there isn't bad weather, theres only being unprepared with incorrect clothing/gear. When I drove up, I didn't stop for much, went by Old Faithful because I wanted to stop for lunch. Thought I pulled into Disney and promptly GTFO! I drove through the park probably 4 times and stopped three times for short periods due to not wanting to deal with morons.

And yes, during my 25 minutes near Old Faithful I saw someone get off the boardwalk next to a sign telling them not to. I cried a little when he did not fall into a lake of acid.

Not as fun in the cold rain with a 11month old. Wife and I have already seen old faithful.
That is why we can't have nice things. Too many self entitled idiots who think the rules don't apply to them. I think they should put some land mines off path. Not something that will kill them. Just to scare them enough to make them poop their pants a little.

    FIFY!

Stupid excited about Summer! Can't take the wife camping in the winter. Need to figure out a solution for the newborn with this Xtra Cab 1st gen.

Thinking about picking up a couple of these.

    Co-Worker swears by them.

Or... do you think it would be wiser and easier on the pocket book to just get some kind of mattress that's big enough for the three of us? Sheeee-yit. I haven't looked at air mattresses since I was 19 or so (couldn't afford to buy a new bed w/ frame for the apartment).

Cots would be nice, but you need three sleeping bags and you are kinda stuck in the center of the cot... sleeping on the metal bars would not be comfy, and you might tip it over.

Air mattresses are nice as long as its warm, you wont puncture it and you have an air pump... whether battery or 12v powered.
