I'm also trying to get them to address the squeak in the rear when slowing to a stop, T-SB-0023-18. My guy at the dealer seems good, he's being honest and open with me, but it's a kind of piling on.

I still like the truck, but this is beginning to feel like a patty hurst situation lol.

I think it was the dampers themselves. I dunno, he told me but I kind of glazed over. I'll keep on them.

I think the dampers are the ones taking months to come in, correct? Maybe they are taking them from another dealer or something ha

Hope they get it all done for ya. Think you could get them to take pics of the interior pad pillar?? Probably a bit late for that now.

Ok so 45-60 on coast was my issue. If i'm honest, I can hear something around 45 or so on coast, but that's it. What I really notice now is my prinsu and tires lol. If you were to get in the truck and drive it, you would never pick it up if you weren't familiar with the whine, no way. You really have to search for it, and even then when you do hear something, it sounds so much like tire noise, not like the whine. I'll give it a 9.5/10. I can see new leafs, but other than that I didn't look under it. The new leafs felt better, but that might be placebo, my old leafs only had 19xxx on them.
    Hopefully it stays this way.

This is great news, Dangle. And, of course the new leafs are better - no placebo at all....;). I’m taking mine in next week and hope to have good results as well.

Yeah I am very pleased with the results I got. My only concern is if it changes though.

Bottom line is there is none of the whine noise anymore, Not that overbearing skull penetrating noise anyways. I do have AT3W's which are more aggressive looking than stock, but I have never felt they were noisier than the stock GY's. I would describe the noise as tire hum if anything. I wouldn't even honestly call it gear whine noise at this point anymore.

I can't see how anyone wouldn't be satisfied with the results of the TSB. I'm sure there are some though...

I had my truck in yesterday for the 20k service, and brought this up again (third time I've mentioned it to this dealer). This time I mentioned the TSB # specifically, since they were apparently incapable of finding it themselves. They said I qualify for the TSB and parts are ordered. Also said nothing is on backorder, so parts should be in within a week or so. I'll believe that part when I see it.

I just dropped mine off at Mark Miller for the install today. I’ll know how well the fix works in about 6 hours. I brought the issue up on my 25k service in early March, they ordered the parts with no fuss. Took about 4-5 weeks for the parts to show up. Which dealer are you working with?

Same, mark miller. They ordered the parts for me Thursday, and the service writer said nothing showed as back ordered. Let me know how yours sounds after they’re done.

It’s good. I have a very minor howl if I feather the throttle between 50-60. If I didn’t know of the previous issue I wouldn’t notice it at all now. They also replaced all the weather stripping on my door seals under that TSB. I’m happy with the fix and the service I received from the dealer.

According to my Service Manager mine was the first one of these they had done. It took them over 8 hours. I dropped it off at 9 am and they were still working at 5:30 pm. I asked them to keep it overnight so they didn’t have to rush and could take whatever time was needed to make sure it was right. Picked it up a few min ago and drove all the spots where I could get it to howl and it was 90%+ better.

That's great. It sounds like your fix experience is very similar to mine.

It doesn't cover 2018? I have a 2018 DC Long Bed SR5 4wd. My truck whines so bad I cant hear the radio. It goes in for 5k service tomorrow AM. I'm going to mention it to the Service Person

Correct, the TSB does not cover our 2018 SR5’s. Doesn’t hurt to ask though! I tried two dealers and they both were no help. Maybe your dealer will be better.

I am tired of dealing with dealers and the whine so I ordered the parts myself. I should have the dampers installed by Tuesday of next week.
