My current battery on my 2007 is 3 years old and still going...the eye is solid green lol. When the time comes to replace can I get it from any place other than the stealership?

Good to hear yours is still going. Mine crapped out at 28 months. Yeah, you can get one anyplace. I got mine replaced under warranty, but I will not buy one from them when this one goes. Not sure what I'll get yet.

I'd like to reccommend one, but from what I read, the batteries sold there are not necessarilly the same ones sold here, even with the same name & model numbers.

Batteries are sold regionally, and tests have shown some big differences between the same ones sold in different regions.

That being said, I've had good luck with the Everstart batteries from Walmart & when I have had to exchange one (it sat in a car for two years without being charged or run) they did it without a hitch.

Consumers Reports, however, gave lower ratings for this battery in some other regions. I don't know why.

Batteries sold in different regions have different designs...a design good for hot/dry deserts is generally not so good for sub-zero winters so there's one for that. That's been my understanding at least.

I also stopped worrying about getting the 'best' battery at high cost. I've been left stranded far to often thinking my ultra-premium gold top battery was still good. Sure, they honored the warranty...but the warranty paper's a lot more valuable at the latrine when your truck's stranded up a canyon 60 miles from nowhere.

Now, I get Walmart's battery too, and change it every three years whether it needs it or not.

I believe Johnson Controls make most all batteries in the U.S.

I think my truck says Johnson controls on the battery someplace.

Mine is an '05 and I just had to replace it about a month and a half ago. The eye on it was still green, but it was dead as 4 o'clock. I got the only one that anyone had in stock that was the same size as the stock one. Don't even know the brand name.
