Yes, as if TW didn't have enough tire threads... But perhaps this can be slightly unique (unlikely)

I've been in the market for some cheap take-offs of the stock Wranglers to replace mine that have 30k on them but have had a few deals fall through. Mine still have decent tread on them but I tend to leave a fair amount of rubber on the curvy mountain roads having fun.

Since the day I bought the truck, just like many, I looked at something with more aggressive tread. But I've actually been very pleased w/ how well the Wranglers have held up. Yes, they will slip on wet rocks and aren't good in mud but I don't do a lot of mudding and traction control features on the OR have gotten me through slippery rocky terrain no problem. They've done really well overall though contrary to their road-mannered tread pattern.

    Needs:
Has to be a soft ride like the Wranglers - baby in the truck and wife has back issues
Has to be quiet and handle well on pavement, especially tight curvy mountain roads
Want to be more aggressive in look and tread pattern, reducing slip on wet surfaces / mud / rocks.
Don't want to add a ridiculous amount of weight but am open to going up in weight within reason.

I do not plan to lift the truck.
I do not plan to invest in gears.
I do not want to upgrade suspension in any other way.
Plan to (for now) keep the stock OR wheels.

My thinking to this point has been, these are working fine so just get a deal on some take-offs and call it a day b/c I see so many folks get tires they are unhappy with that rob them of power or turn into a money pit with power/gears/etc.,

Ridge Grapplers ride well on the Pro 4Runners but I'd have to go up a wheel size. KO2s I'm not really interested in.

    Other options?

AT3/W comes in an SL in the 265/75r16 size. 1" larger tire, no mods need to fit, aggesiv'er', still soft and quiet

Coopers look more road mannered in terms of tread which makes me think they may be quieter/softer on the highway but of course the Falkens have a bit more aggressive tread pattern which would help offroad but may contribute to highway drone?

Who has a pic of the Falken AT3/Ws on stock 16s?

Have you looked at Toyo AT2? I went through a few sets on my old Tundra. They're slightly more aggressive than the stock Wrangler but maintain good road manners. I'm kinda in the same boat as you. When my stock tires wear out I'll either replace with the same or go with the AT2.

I don't have any experience with the tires, but from what I've read the Falken's are a good choice. These guys just put them on stock OR wheels:

I believe General just discontinued this line and it will be replaced by the ATX.

ETA - the Grabber ATX does come in SL 265/75/16

4 Falkens for the price of 3 after rebates at Discount Tire, five months ago.

$647.00 with mount, balance, and full replacement guarantee for damage or blowouts for Falkens.
    -$135.00 rebates
-350.00 from selling Wranglers with 985 miles.

$162.00 for 4 new Falkens when Taco had 985 miles on it. That’s a decently priced upgrade to the truck.

Smooth, quiet as stock, more aggressive looking than stock, great price.

Seems like you really don't do much off-road trails. I'd say stick with stock, if you're happy with them. Other tire I would personally look at is Michelin M/S. Smooth riding and long treadlife. If you want A/T, then the Mich AT2's.

Nice, and definitely a great deal. What PSI do you run these at for road driving? The stock wranglers I run at 30 cold as the door sticker recommends (though the dealer always airs them up to 34-35...and I deflate after) and they still corner/handle really well and absorb some of the road bumps better. I don't mind a little bumpiness but I also like driving my truck on family trips so momma's gotta be happy.
