Last time my rear end grenaded, both the ring and the pinion had chunks missing. This time, my pinion looks good, no visible damage.

o yeah, they awesome. drop at 8, called me at 1215 done. drives great, feels tight. breaking her in now. I-485 around Charlotte is 67 miles, I will do laps tomorrow morning.

 

What is it, like 500 miles for break in?

 

correct. 20 mins on, 20 mins off, 50 miles on, 20 mins off. repeat the 50/20 to 500. then swap out the oil

 

Anyone know any good shops around charlotte NC or Columbia SC who can do a turbo build on a 2.7 Tacoma?

The big question is what is your budget and goals of the build.

 

I wanna cam my shit so bad. (Mostly for the sound) ha... trying to find a mild cam numbers for the guy that will Flash it

 

Speaking of that.. any of you upstate guys can recommend a place that can flash the ecu and do a Dyno tune

 

Look for something that is greared more for torque and hauling like what would be called an RV cam in old school terms. LS's really wake up to cams and can take quite a bit of lift and duration before needing to go crazy with the rest of the valve train.

 

Far but I know some good shops in the Raleigh area and a really good tuner up near Va. if he's still doing it.
