My 04 just blinks the lights when I use the keyless entry remote to unlock and lock. Is it supposed to chime? I know my buddy's 03 Tundra did. Any advice or knowledge on this would be greatly appreciated.

Some tacomas came with a alarm others didn’t, my truck use to do the same thing. If you open your hood between the battery and fender there will be a empty plug if you dont have it, if there is a small cylinder shaped thing then you truck came with one.

I think if you hold lock and unlock buttons down at the same time for 5 seconds it will turn it on

Mine beeps, but only when it's been dry for a few days. If I go through the car wash or it's been raining it quits making noise altogether, or makes a tiny faint pathetic beep.

On my 04 DC. I got so tired of not the horn honking, but the beeping of the piezo. I unplugged mine and took it out. Taped the plug up and forgot about it. No more annoying beep beep, beep beep!

Anyone ever try a piezo from a Lexus model?

I don't like the tone on the factory Tacoma alarm, but there are some tones on older Lexus es300 models that have a more mature sound that I don't hate.

Curious if it would be plug-n-play:notsure:

    I did find this part # 89747-33010 from a 96 es300.
I may try this and give feedback, if anyone wants a audible less annoying lock/unlock tone.
