I finally got around to mounting the rear camera of my BlackVue DR750S-2CH dash cam system.

Given that the sliding glass makes it impossible to center the camera, I put it smack dab in the middle of my driver's side rear glass instead. I recently ran the wire for it during an audio installation - down the A-pillar, through the floor channel, and back up behind the rear seats.

This may seem like an odd placement, but once the rear seat back is in position you can't even tell it's there.

Hard to see from outside as well.

I’d go the knockoff brand all day. It may not be the OEM but are you really missing that much. I think it would hold up just as good tbh. It’s like going Dynamat verses those other knockoff brands. Foxwing Awning with CVT or with the groupbuy on this forum. There are so many other comparisons as well. I’m glad that people on here are looking out for others to save them some money on items that may not have the brand name, but are just as good. I know people on this forum that bashed people originally for going the knockoff route with the Pro Grill. Saying it is probably shit and won’t hold up like OEM. I’d say don’t listen to them. They are probably just upset because they rushed to get it before everyone and are pissed now they could have saved so much money going this route.

Had my knock-off grille 6 months. Still looks pretty good for $140.

I didn’t go to the length of that process but similar and mine is holding up great. I just cut the tip off and got the TRD tip, but I painted the tip and piping because it drove me crazy have a black tip and then silver piping that you could see from the back.

Not entirely true at all. For an injection molded piece of plastic, year sure, pretty much same thing, no big deal. But when you start talking tents, awnings, lighting, etc, there are substantial differences between name and knock off brands. Material selection, construction quality, customer service, parts availability etc. It's foolish to assume and broadcast that knock off brands across the board are just as good because that is absolutely 100% untrue. Many knock off brands just white label the cheapest, mass produced parts and call them their own. Meanwhile replacement parts are nowhere to be found when you have an issue and the longevity and reliability of the product is shit.

No doubt there is a market for knock off crap, but to cast a wide net and say that it's all the same, well that's just nonsense.

Spent yesterday installing and configuring an old Mobius from a quadcopter as a dash cam. The Mobius is cheap and takes excellent footage, but it is not for the technically challenged. It took me a couple of hours to figure out getting the new programming to work. It's hardwired with a $10 dash cam kit into an add a fuse in the driver footwell. The wire runs up through the drivers side A post and is tucked under the headliner above the windshield. I ordered a mount from Shapeways.com to mount the mobius directly onto the GoPro mount on the wind shield. When I turn on the ignition the camera automatically starts recording in 5 minute files. When the memory card is full it overrights the oldest files.

Also from shapeways I bought a GoPro to Quadlock adapter and mounted the phone to the dash.

I think I’ll replace those goofy GoPro screws with allen screws. The mount has a fair amount of vibration unless I rest the phone against the dash trim.

For someone that recently sent me a private PM and request of the following:

“When nobody but yourself agrees with your shit "review". Kindly refrain from copy and pasting anything further from my build page into your future drivel and also please further refrain from PM'ing me any other stupid questions. I neither have the time nor desire to lead a blind horse to water or help someone that refuses to see the error in their own ways.”

I would kindly ask that you please refrain from quoting me on any further posts. If you don’t agree with what I say, that’s fine. I’m not asking you to. Thank You!

If you're going to spew misinformation, I for damn sure am going to correct you. This forum is way too full of bad and misguided information. And I have helped out a ton of members correcting things that people like yourself directed them to do. While you may feel that you are doing them a great service, it is in fact quite the contrary as they often end up spending more money down the road to redo what they should have done right the first time but instead were directed to go a lesser expensive or knock off route because "oh this will work just fine"

I can't tell you how many members trucks have been in my garage to fix instances just like this. And while I fully realize that not everyone can afford top of the line parts all at once, it is within reason to believe that these parts can be acquired over time instead of seeking constant "quick fixes" to satisfy a perceived "need". As the saying goes, "Buy once, cry once". Believe me, there was a point in time that I too went the route of the cheaper mods, learned the hard way and never went down that rabbit hole again.

Don't want to be corrected, take the time to do some research instead of just copy and pasting things that you find elsewhere. Knowledge is power. Anyone can copy and paste

    Just the standard Tacomaworld mods
Those look very familiar. I think they were aftermarket wheels offered by Toyota back when I worked at a dealer (2003-2006)
May not be made by Toyota sometimes they offered wheels made by Enkei with factory centre caps. I don't recall seeing those on any particular model. Nice rims I'd love see them mounted.

    Edit: @JD'STaco nailed it.
