    Today, I dropped my truck off to get the;
    1- 10k mile service
2- visible seepage of the rear differential
3- ongoing issue of the “rumble strip” sensation when coming to a complete stop.
Told them to keep the truck overnight so they can thoroughly inspect it.

1.5hrs later I got a call that it’s ready....go to get the truck they told me the 10k service was done, I said what was found about my two issues, they said they tightened the bolts on the rear diff and that Toyota said that they are not to replace anything on the diff unless it’s a visible leak.
I said Okay so what about the braking issue...they stated that the technician checked everything and that nothing seemed abnormal, I asked if he had driven it to check for the issue the advisor said yes.

I get in my truck to drive away and see that I have the same exact mileage as when I dropped it off......WTF!!??

Turned right around made the service advisor look like an idiot for telling me false information and told him to MAKE SURE they drive the truck in the morning to find the issue.

Should I complain to Toyota Corporate?

I would give the Dealer a chance before bitching to Corporate.

Rumble strip braking sounds like warped rotors potentially. Did they give you any report on the rotors?

He said they checked everything and nothing looked warped, no noticeable wear of the brake pads all the bolts were tight, but I told him that’s just a visual inspection, so they didn’t really dig into it given that he b’sd me about the test driving the vehicle.

So you left the truck with them to drive in the morning? If so, you are going to have some hard ass miles on your truck tomorrow.
I hope they find something, but chances are there will not be a Tech driving your truck. They will probably just send the lot porter out to put some miles on it.
Do you have another dealer nearby you can go to? It sounds like you have made some ¨friends¨ at this one.
I would hold off on calling corporate right now and find another dealer to give them a chance.

Haha some friends all right, I actually like the dealership I bought a 4Runner right after my truck and it’s literally 2 miles from my house so it’s convinient.
Ultimately the service advisor is only passing on the information from what’s stated on the tech’s report so I would hope to think that the advisor would get on the tech’s ass for rushing through a vehicle like that....then again they could probably careless and just go on to the next.

Actually surprised they didn't check since brake rotors aren't usually covered under warranty I don't think.

Sounds like you’re not being taken serious......most likely the advisors fault. Don’t go to corporate yet, go to the service manager or higher like the fixed operations director. They are more likely to take your concerns seriously. I had to do so after a service advisor lied to me twice. Now I’m on first name basis with the fixed operations director, and any concern is addressed/resolved the best they can. Staying calm, polite and firm will get you better help when needed.

#3 could be a warped axle. I think there is a tsb. I should bookmark it because the about of threads I'm seeing pop up with it.

    Edited to add this.

The TSB was released by Toyota USA today. T-SB-0023-18:

    Toyota USA TSB 0023-18 said:
Some 2017–2018 model year Tacoma vehicles may exhibit a noise or vibration from the rear of the vehicle at low speeds or while braking. This condition may be caused by excessive clearance between the brake drum and axle drum flange. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address this condition.
The repair procedure involves replacing one or both rear axle shafts, wheel bearing(s), seal(s) and associated components on the rear axle. Covered under the powertrain warranty (5 years, 60k miles/100k kms).

Problem is how a buddy explained it to me is warranty work for the techs doesn't pay shit (to the techs) and because of that it gets tossed down to the least experienced guy. SO they will do the bare minimum to get it off their plate and off to the next job that might be worth more to them.

So I acutually just received a call from the dealership and low and behold they acknowledged the braking sensation/vibration, he said that there are some TSB’s out (which we all know of already) they are going to open a case with Toyota and give me a rental.
They did notice my 2nd gen TRD Pro suspension upgrade and my HS AAL...this could be their way out of fixing anything however... I had the same concern about the braking vibration documented at my 5k mile service and that was prior to my lift, they did not feel the vibration then by I at least got it documented.

Right, but he also took it straight back if I understood it correctly, thought it was a good idea to see if they would make it right.

Toyota has some of the WORST dealerships and service departments of any make of vehicle I've ever owned. They really are awful. I think GM and RAM have worse but that's not really company you want to keep. I dread having to ever go to a Toyota dealership for service or warranty work because it's always a hassle. Why do you think Toyota had to start giving away free services with their vehicles?

I think they did it to cave to the pressure since most of the German automakers had been doing it a long time. Not all are bad in my area, we definitely have one thats way better than the other.

No question. After owning 2 Audi's, I'd never do it again. But so many consumers aren't able to do the math... They hear no cost maintenance for a couple years and they don't think much past that.

Op you need to call and make an appointment for said specific issue, other wise the other tech's that are qualified to actually look at your issue are busy with other cars/trucks. If you just scheduled 10k service, that's all they are going to do it. Beside a quick visual inspection. Good luck with it.
