Running 285s without CMC?

And drink beers

 

Practicing for when I do the CMC on Shawn's Red.

 

No rubbing - 5100 w/ 885 (2wd) / 5160 rear and headstrong AAL

SPC UCA - caster set to 3.8 - I don’t offroad so I’m not sure what would happen at full flex.

 

Nope need a cmc for sure

 

basically it seems like every taco is different. wish people would acknowledge this and just get an alignment before to max caster. or maybe take measurements beforehand. I bet they are all different. I can stick my fist between my tire and cab mount on one side and not the other, and mine is totally stock . . .

 

Running your same setup. No cmc no issues on back end but i do have LC UCA’s set. Also my last off road trip i broke out my inner fender walls from stuffing my tires but thats it. I say wait on cmc but definitly use a heat gun, melt in your front fender lining and throw cool water on it to hold it in place. Then u wont rip them out like me. But i dont need a cmc. 285 falkens

 

I’m on notch 5 right now. I’ll probably drop it to 4 when i throw on my 650lb springs

 

I fully expected to do the CMC, but when I got the tires on there, there was no need. I got my Toyota dealership to align it after I lifted it. They do lifts and 33s as well, so i assume they are used to aligning them to fit the ties.

 

I'm running 285's and do not have a cmc and I have zero rub. Even while off-road.

It's reinforced inside as well. Just chopped mine off yesterday. It's got an extra bar inside. Makes it little harder to cut off.

 

why do people say youll need a CMC when theres multiple truck that wheel and dont wheel and they dont have it???? its been proven you dont need it so stop saying you do..

 

Cause I have a 3rd gen on 285s and I do need a CMC. What set up do you have?

16" walkers on 3.5 bs

 

UCA brand, alignment numbers, wheel BS and actual lift will be why we get so many answers. If all the factors are lined up just right I do believe some people go without the CMC, but it can be be hard to define exactly what they did and replicate it.

 

Not every truck is the same...

285s aren't equal in size, wheel specs are different across the board, alignment numbers.

I know there is multiple trucks that don't need them m, general consensus is you need them on aftermarket wheels.
