Hey guys, I've been thinking about moving my Bilstein 6112s down to the 2nd & 3rd notch ( currently on 5th & 6th) and adding a 1/2” - 3/4" top plate in hopes of getting a little smoother ride. Don't get me won't I think it rides good but figured unloading the springs a little would only make it better. I was hoping to get someone opinion that has done this switch it running they other set up

    Thanks!

Have a pair sitting in the garage waiting to go on, 5/5 notch with a lean spacer installed on the driver side.

How much lift did you get out of the 6/5 notch over factory? I have a limited and I think the offroad already sits slightly higher?

I ended up getting right at 2" up front and 1.3" in the rear. I have the measurements write down at home so I'll double check here I'm a couple hours.

I would imagine my set up should get pretty much the same result. What did you run in the rear 5160s and?

Yeah the 5160s with the HS add a lead and removing the overload spring.

Thinking of running the same set up with overload out and sumo springs.

I was on the 5/4 setting and moved up to the 5/6 setting. They feel exactly the same to me off and on road. Not really sure what type of driving you do, DD, weekend warrior, overlander, pavement princess.

I highly doubt moving to a lower setting and then adding a top plate will do anything. Otherwise Bilstein would have done so, they did their research and pretty much had their R&D from the 2015 TRD Pro tacoma.

If you feel like you've outgrown this setup move up to a progressive coilover.

I thought I came across something somewhere on in internet that Bilstein says theres not much of a ride difference from 1st to 6th but I was just hoping to get real world knowledge. I don't do much off-roading and it is my DD I was just hoping to get just a little more out of it. Ive been eyeballing the new B8s but I would only do that if someone on here was willing to buy my 6112s.
