I know this thread is fairly old, but here is my .02

I recently installed a lift on my truck, which included adding a block in the rear. My truck's leafs were quiet for maybe 30-40,000 miles and then proceed to get super loud. It would randomly come and go after that. My truck currently has around 70,000 on it. Anyway, when I was changing out the rear u-bolts I saw that the stock ones had bare spots where they ride on the top of the leaf springs, bare spots from my knowledge always seem to occur when something is continuously moving around. My guess is that my rear U-bolts had been lose, I had checked them maybe 6 or so months prior to the lift when I heard that torque could be an issue from the factory. It's been around a week so far with the lift installed, and I have heard ZERO noises from the rear end. I know that this may not be the fix for everyone, but atleast it is something easy and free you can check.

I had a squeak in my rear suspension, and I tracked it down to the spare tire. The tire tech hadn’t properly seated the spare wheel/tire in the wheel well under the truck bed, so it was still swinging around a bit. Might want to just check and make sure your spare tire is snug all the way :)

Are you saying you got your lift done by Toyota? They still won't know anything

If it's dakars you have just embrace the noise. Mine are so noisy. I was told after about a year or so they will rust a little then shut up finally.

My spare tire isn’t lose, I know that for sure. When my leaf springs used to squeak I checked that at first, my rangers spare tire was lose and it squeaker too so I figured it was the case with my Taco. I’ve had my truck for almost three years, and as I said it comes and goes, no lubricant I tried, or washing or anything helped, but as I said for now it seems to have gone away.

Are you saying it was torqued on a lift?
Snug on a lift, torque on the ground, re-torque after 100 miles.

Should I retorque mine after 100 as well? (New U-Bolts that came with lift) I’m assuming it’s to account for bolt stretch? I put over 100 on my truck a day and I haven’t checked them after installing them a week ago. I’m no mechanic, but would it really matter if they were torqued on a lift? Is it just to keep the rear end from being in a bind? I know with things like LCA’s you’re only supposed to torque them when it’s on the ground so you don’t prematurely wear out the bushings.

I should have been more specific...
U-bolts are fine to torque on a lift; things with bushings are not. They can bind and "creack", per OP's symptoms.
Re-torque everything after 100 miles; ground is fine for u-bolts and bushings.
