Sounds like you would be better served by a Bestop or Softtopper, so you can just fold it down.

think im going to build a combo drawer system that extends just past the wheel wells. that way I still have access and can get my cooler and front runner box and water to fit in the bed. and hopefully I can build these so that my Plano boxes will sit right under my tent. lots of project before the big trip

Haha sorry man I felt I was being attacked and had to justify my position. I still contend it's a pin in the ass sometimes but so worth it for the extra dry and locked storage when needed, and for all you can do camping etc. I won't be getting rid of mine anytime soon.

You're definitely right but I like the dry storage and locked security the cap gives when I need it.

Finally got my retros installed. Had to rebake one because the shroud had fallen off, so I JB welded the shroud back on. The other one will probably need to be rebaked at some point, the seals don't look great. Will be interesting to see how they do with moisture. Hopefully I avoid the NOVA headlight curse. Once The paint dries on my color matched grille and I get that JB welded back on, I'll get some pics. Thanks to @fatfurious2 for finding them for me, and an extra special thanks to @trdsport6 for going to pick them up and shipping to me.

I debating on getting a decked system (make a wooden one) into sections that allow me to remove it on my own. But that would be down the road.

@EatSleepTacos built one like that…I think…either way his is awesome. He gave me his old planks and the two level storage is amazing. I want to get a drawer for the bottom level soon.
