My wallet doesn't like this forum, but the taco does. Thankfully the wife is okay with all the mods.

Reminds me of that lady on TW FB yesterday who posted she’s in traffic when in reality she’s in her driveway. Be honest with yourself and your fellow humans and you’ll get all the attention you deserve.

I haven't driven mine for close to a year (thanks Korea) and I'm still buying crap for it. Granted, they're small "mods" since it's stupid expensive to ship metal bumpers/sliders/armor to Guam, but if i were stateside my savings wouldn't be nearly as good as it is... These trucks are the worst.

Whatever I learn from you guys
Ya TW will help find ways to help you spend your money real fast but there is also some great ideas and mods. Problem I had was there’s so many choices. Example: search front bumpers for our Tacoma’s. I too also told myself “my truck is done” for a short period of time

I met an old school mechanic about 2 years ago at a little shop, and he was doing a lift and tire upgrades to a previous truck of mine. Not sure exactly what it was, but he struck me as the kind of guy that gives sound advice. He was telling me he would take the Z71 decals off (it was a Silverado), because he said he always liked the “Stock Look”.

Not sure why that stuck with me, but when I got my new Taco I told myself I’d do just that. So first thing, took the TRD decals off and I committed to limit flashy exterior mods as much as possible. I like the idea of a “sleeper” that doesn’t flaunt its capability. Plus I’ve always thought that the less flashy your vehicle, the less likely you are to stand out to police. So my mantra is as many mods as possible while maintaining stock look.

Don’t get me wrong. There are a ton of nice looking trucks on TW and I definitely enjoy coming here and seeing all of the sweet rigs. Whatever flips your pancakes.

I guess I'm bullshitting myself that if I buy a new 3rd gen later this year I'm done, no more tinkering. All I need are the mats, steps and mud flaps.......

This is my 4th Tacoma, but I had a 3 year Rav4 lease before this one. In eager anticipation of getting this one, I had a nice collection started in my basement months in advance consisting of the faux Pro grille, a remote starter, and the tailgate inserts, not to mention a list of the other things I wanted.
I had fun on my first day with it!
