2016 OVTune Tacoma 3.5L Manual Transmission / Engine ECU Reflash

This will probably piss of a lot of people, but I think Mat should create the tune based solely on data from stock trucks. If someone doesn't like the stock tune, and they're running big tires, or an aftermarket air intake, then it has to be considered a custom tune. He'll never be able to hit a sweet spot with the results from modified vehicles muddying the waters.

 

That's fair, actually.. considering that he's offering custom tuning as part of the deal anyway.

Another factor we've seen is personal preference.

Also, stepchild trucks like mine tend to skew things in testing

 

That's actually what I've said in the alpha thread a bunch of times. Half of the back and forth BS is from people with rather significant mods giving a ton of input, which is fine except that it throws off everyone else's tune. Make the base map for trucks that are stock or close to stock, custom tune for others

Agreed, I thought he was though....the changes are based on feedback for issues that were wothbthe stock tune and on the tunes files. Hence why he is trying to sort them out....

Lol for all we know, he was upset that the test tunes were being shared with a bunch of people and wishes to avoid that this time around

 

I'm keeping this round of data collection a little more private because I don't want people to assume all of the testing updates are finished files and giving out feedback / opinions to the masses.

I'd be happy to test for 04B10 if you need anyone to do that still. FWIW I was one of the early adopters of your tune and have been watching the threads since the beginning. I'm a big fan of your work and have felt as though each new iteration has been an evolutionary improvement in the operation of the truck keep up the good work @OVTune
