is there a noticeable gap on the bottom and top? any chance of taking a pic of the top and bottom of your grill?

Mine is exactly the same way. I couldn't figure out why I was having so much more trouble than others getting the assembly back on the truck, but these pictures show the culprit. I am going to remove it again and dremel the part of the grille where the bottom two screws are. I will try to remove the plastic material all the way up to where the screw heads are, and try installing it again. Please let me know how you handle yours. I'd rather not dremel the actual piece that's part of the truck.

No way am I dremeling the actual OEM piece, I will probably take a file or cut a notch out so that the screws wont get loose and make enough room for those tabs

No gap on top or bottom from what i can see, just a little bulge on the bottom of the middle part because of the tabs not seating correctly, I saw the other post with that panel gap I will check closer tomorrow though...

So I actually managed to clip those two tabs in without doing any cutting, I just had to squeeze the grille and the frame together pretty hard. Didn't notice any bulging or interference until the next day when I happened to be looking under the hood and saw the two screw holes pushed up against the plastic. Then it occured to me that that was why the grille didn't clip in easy. That being said I still took it off and filed two little triangular notches for the screws to clear. Does it look any different? No not really, but I feel better inside ;)

I noticed this on several pictures on this and other threads. When I was at the dealer for my first oil change, I walked over to a TRD Pro they had in the lot to check out the front grill. Didn't see any noticeable from the knock off I bought on eBay and the TRD Pro ALSO had the gap you see in all the pictures. It's only noticeable at certain angles. Before I put my grill on I am going to try to find some black foam like the one @mesojdm puts on his Ultimate Turn Signals. That would fill the gap perfectly!

@mesojdm if I may ask...where can I get a roll of that stuff???

Yea so I will be filing it down just so there isn't any unneeded tension on those tabs. I cant notice any bulge right now but just got piece of mind.

I took a better look at the gaps as you were saying, Seems to be some gap on the top and none on the bottom. I'm wondering if I should do the foam insert or not gap goes from the sides to the top.

Does anyone have a valid discount code that works on Ebay with these grills?

Does this grill have the mounts/removable piece for the TSS sensor at the bottom of the grill?

    Thanks,

thanks for posting pics! i have a gap on the top and bottom. the sides fit great. i ended up toying with a couple different options and im finally happy with the results. i used foam weather stripping first. then i used, not sure i know the name of this, the rubber thing you use to apply the screen mesh to a screen door or a screen window. the gap is still there but its at least hidden because i used the rubber stripping like a gasket.

Sometimes they ship it seperately to avoid copyright infringment. However, you should notify them because they SHOULD be included. They forgot mine as well then I ended up buying the letters from a different seller and it did not match up, then the original grill seller shipped them to me and I returned the others. So I spent money on restocking an shipping and so on. The letters are NOT generic so you must get them from the original grill seller to avoid the hassle. The tab can be fixed with 2-part Epoxy from Lowes and will be the strongest of all of them.

Mine arrived in 4 days to Florida. I was shocked by the quality, it’s really good. It came as the 2 piece, with the letters separate. The fit is nice & snug into the grille surround. I had to use some elbow grease to get the last couple of tabs to pop into place. I was hesitant to order because of the things I’ve read in this thread, but I’m happy I did.
