I really like my Viper set up ...
I purchased it right before winter, I had Best Buy to do it ...
Didn't have time or the knowledge to do it myself and really didn't want to ...
The system I had installed was the Viper - DS4VB DS4+ Remote Start System, Model:7756V 2-way Led Viper Remote ...
I've put a lot of $ in my Taco so I also purchase the VSM450 SmartStart GPS so just in case someone wanted to take my Taco I can find them lol well at least the police can any way ...
I can start my truck with the Led remote 3 blocks away with out any problems ...
I did purchase the phone app ($100 a year) just for the GPS system ...
It's pretty cool to have, I had it set up to notify me when it was at the body every time they started and moved it ...
My son used my truck and I was able to track him everywhere he went lol ...
As for me I was happy that was the route I went ...

Thanks anf not sure yet since the wildcard here is the cost of the junction connectors for the harnesses. Based on the known variables, I expect the cost of something like this to start at least $300 or so? That might include a setup like a 4X10, 7656V 1 way remotes, and the "plug and play" harness.

This is something I want to do for my own truck too, so I'm going to do a dry run on feasibility there and get a better idea on cost.
