Yeah the absolute worst of it is the super rare 04B10 guys who at the beginning were having trouble with ignition timing, because each year Toyota has made a different ecu for this truck from 16-17-18. Those issues have been worked out at this point, and Mat is almost done with the standard tunes which means he will have time to start preparing custom tunes for guys who have extensive mods ( and turbos )!

It’s improved somewhat, but honestly I’m not gonna be able to truly calculate it for a while. Still in the gear break in cycle (only have done 120 out of 500 miles) and I work 2.1 miles away from home. Today I’m working at a farther station, and within those 20 miles from home, I averaged 18.6, I’m pretty stoked lol. I never cared about mpg but to just feel it drive effortlessly and be in the correct powerband is so nice compared to stock 3.90’s on 33’s

    my build tread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/socal-no-shame-poser-build.513084/

I dont have a 6” lift just a 3” but my mileage decreased 1-2mpg. Most I have see has been a slight decrease. Improvement is worth it though

Have you uploaded the new map for the 4.88 gears? If you have does it change RMP’s in 5th or 6th gear? I have 4.88 gears on a stock setup and runs around 2200 RPM @ 70 MPH. getting a lift and 33’s in a couple weeks but was considering getting the OVTune also just curious how the new 4.88 map effects driving experience. Thanks.

Not possible to change rpm relative to gears with tuning man. The engine is connected to the transmission which is connected to the rear diff. You can get some big tires and that would bring down rpms tho

Makes perfect sense thanks. Still wondering how the 4.88 map driving experience is. Has anyone uploaded that can give some feedback would be appreciated. Also curious if there are more maps available, for example when things are said and done in a couple weeks I will be running 4.88’s on 33” tires with a Stromung tucker exhaust. Are there maps would apply for my build??
