95% use stock because there is no appreciable power, filtration nor efficiency gains to be had. The other few percent use either K&N or TRD, mainly for under hood bling or sound. Good luck!

Hmm I kinda thought it would give you some power. Don’t care about mpg’s but if I’m paying over 200 for an intake that doesn’t do much I’d rather keep stock.. thanks for the info

Don't bring things like this up on the forums because there are plenty of asshats that will "state their opinion" while also tear you a new one if you don't agree with them

Still waiting for someone to post they have polished the innards of the 3.5 intake manifold via an extrude hone job. That’s what I think about when someone posts this topic. Yes, the work just to get to the manifold must be insane. I bet there is a mad professor out there crazy enough to try!

I agree, it’s going to be LOUD above 4,00rpm.

I don't own a new Taco like you but I do own a '16 RX350 and one thing I know, they have the intake thing very well sorted nowadays. You likely have the best CAI stock. I know my Rx does-I took one look in there and saw right away there's no need to improve.

I went with an aftermarket highflow filter and purchased the TRD CAI boot that seals the box to fender no air being pulled in from engine compartment now.

This is a hotly debated issue almost every week here. Personally I wouldn't go K&N unless you want a noise maker. This is due to the fact that the box is less air tight than the factory intake and pulls air from the wheel well only. I've got an AFE that I'm pretty happy. Mainly because it takes air from the factory location and from above the radiator. There's no doubt in my mind that my truck gets enough air for 99.9% of my use of it now.

you may gain 2-4 HP in the rpm range of 4000-6000 but how often are you in that range unless your racing the truck and its not a racetruck..

I would personally get a muffler/catback before an intake, if you just want sound.
