Almost a proper campsite tonight. Almost empty national forest campground. Way better than that crappy city campground! Way cheaper as well!

That's how I bent my spindle.

Yea, had a message out to @thefatkid see what he thinks. I should take it into a “free alignment inspection” to see what they say.
Hope not. The ones on there are gusted

Yeah.. i fell for the "free inspection" sign by big o tires... After confirming they would ONLY check it and not adjust it before talking to me (waiting in the waiting room) they called me up after they checked it AND adjusted it and told me what it would cost.

I thought it needed it so i didn't argue. Turns out they were also the ones who didn't torque my can bolts which caused them to start knocking and later seize up. This was the location in Glenwood, but the one in Golden told me that they don't adjust cam bolts during an alignment, only tie rods.

I have cam tab gussets, spindle gussets, and do my own alignments. I've checked it regularly and its been holding steady even since adding the gussets. That being said, my steering wheel changes center every single time I wheel it.

Not entirely sure why, but it doesn't really concern me any more.

FWIW, before the cam tab gussets, the alignment would change when wheeling, those were very much worth while.

If nothing's bending and nothing's moving (out of adjustment) would that mean the steering rack is jumping teeth? Or is there some other possibility?

    That's be my guess.

Or could be the joint on the steering column being loose on one or both ends and jumping teeth there. I had that happen on a car after it touched down after a quick flight.

It only changes a few degrees. Not enough to be a tooth on the input shaft.

Guessing its the entire steering rack shifting, although I do have new poly bushings in there. I also wonder if it has something to do with the steering column. Theres a slip joint on the 1st gens that is notorious for having some play, which I've never done anything about.

I’ll take a pic in the morning it’s a good bit off like it may have jumped a tooth. Hopefully if that’s the case than it’s good to drive and I’ll just loosen the rag joint and realigns the steering wheel if I can get to the rag joint

The alignment i got in Glenwood seemed to be decent.. Other than the bait and switch and the fact that they did not remove the factory skid to properly torque the bolts, just snugged them and they loosened.
