Hi, I was curious to see if anyone had the 34 gallon tank from Long range auto. And how have they liked it so far? And if they know if it’s legal in California? It’s the only thing I don’t like about my Tacoma. It’s the range is so short. I pray Toyota makes a larger fuel tank as a replacement for the 3rd gen one day soon :(

Ive considered it but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. It sure would be nice. Ive been carrying 2 5 gallon jerry cans and so far that’s been fine but I’d rather not use the bed space or have to pour fuel. I’ll be doing quite a bit of towing stating pretty soon. That might finally justify the larger fuel tank

Upon further research I may get one. I had a bigger gas tank in my Tundra I use to own and loved it.

There was a pretty large thread on here for that same fuel tank on the 2nd gen Tacoma's. The tank is the exact same for 2nd and 3rd gen, mounting and all. I was seriously considering one but upon reading that thread so many people had issues with filling it and the gas pump automatically kicking off like it should at the pump and spurting and overflowing gas everytime someone would fill up, every single time. So that to me was very disappointing and especially since how expensive they are to get from Australia. So I ruled out that option for now unfortunately. I'm going to run with transferflow, they make a awesome toolbox/fuel tank combo setup and with it hooked up and just flip the switch to transfer fuel to the main tank. It's and option besides building your own tank. If I can find that thread I will post it.

Wow. This is interesting news. I would like a bigger tank, but I'm glad I read this. I will have to research it more.

Yeah definitely definitely do quite a bit of research on the forms and google and there are alot of people's experiences with it. For such and expensive option I want it to work like factory ya know? But none the less nothing is impossible!
