Yeah. :D I’m glad you like. It’s even better in person and not hard at all to tap into the dome light for what you want. Glad I could help ;)

Washed it, finally! Anybody have recommendations for foam cannons and chemicals? I'm super lazy about washing, do they make it any easier than a sponge and two buckets?

I use the Chemical Guys products and their foam cannon. Love them both. The thing about the foam cannon is it is basically like a touchless car wash. I usually still give it a two bucket hand wash after hitting it with the foam. Depends on how dirty the vehicle is. If you just have a little road dust, the foam alone is fine. Anything more and the foam will just loosens up the dirt and you will still need to give it a hand wash.

Daks, are the sliders angled or flat? They look angled. Would you be able to take a profile picture showing how it looks along side of truck down low. Was hoping to see how tight to the truck they sit. I am trying to decide between flat or angled. Much appreciated.

Finally had Michael at WrapArmor do some work, he did a custom anti glare wrap in the hood and incorporated a digital urban camo flag, custom side flags and bedside logo’s and the rear lettering in digital urban camo for lettering. If interested hit him up in Instagram @wraparmor located in Anaheim Ca.

Yesterday I installed a rear USB port. Sounds simple enough, right?

Well I tried to save a few minutes time and ended up putting the hole right into a cross member / heat shield.

    83883A2E-DBF2-4786-A74E-31638A419163.jpg

    C8C7D922-8BB9-4CE7-9A5E-09F8F4A5F0DA.jpg

I ended up cutting away a good chunk of that cross member in order to fit the socket, but then I got to worrying about why it was there to begin with. Is it a heat shield for the component directly underneath? Do I need to worry about the socket or wiring that I just installed being affected by heat? Should I try to find another center armrest / storage piece and do it correctly?

Right now I’m really not happy with how it turned out because I tried to save time and ended up making things worse. Anyone else looking to do this - take out the whole thing before drilling your hole!

Hmm... It's nice that she's supporting the lift. But... the fact that she's also dictating your internet activities before you're even married... not a good sign. You may want to re-think that one... :ballchain:

    Very cool.

I've been wanting puddle lights and want to add a set well prior to hunting season starting up.

Have two other lighting mods to tackle later this week :fingerscrossed: and then I'll look into the puddle lighting. Those strips look great and provide a long pattern that would be super.

I may be in touch later on with some wiring advice. Thanks !!!

Sweet looking truck. Those wheels look perfect on there, too.

Is that the Inner Coastal Waterway in the background ?

As far as car care stuff......I knew I was gonna be up against the wall when buying a black truck. Frequent washing is needed compared to the last truck I drove the past 11 years. It looked great whether dirty or not. This beast, though....:bucket:is a different story.

I asked around over in the detailing forum here on TW and was directed to Chemical Guys products. I bought their "Black Car Kit" and some other stuff, a cheap electric pressure washer, a copy of their foam cannon from Amazon and many microfiber cloths.

The 1,500psi electric washer is okay.....wish I'd gone with a stronger gas model that can be adjusted down from 3,000+psi to a 2,000psi setting. I'll likely buy it one day once I wear this one out.

The foam generation with another 500psi would be welcome.

I'll let the foam cannon (with their V07 soap) do it's thing and sit there while sipping a beer or two.....then rinse off with the pressure washer. Some times I'll do this one more time. Most times that's all it takes. On days that I apply sealant & wax then I'll do two back-to-back foam washes and then it's safe to use the two bucket method to get it spotless with a microfiber mitt. Once it dries then the sealant & wax is used.

Life would have been so much easier if I'd have gone with the Quicksand color that was my strong runner up on color choice. I just didn't know at that time if it would be one I'd love long term. Six months into it and I can say that I really think it would have. Oh well.....now I know what color my 4th Gen Tacoma will be. :smokertransformer:
