Yes...these dates for me are good. I would prefer to have Friday (I would probably even leave Thurs night and stop in bishop somewhere), but I'm flexible with whatever everyone else would want.

I will mark it down on my calendar. Let's start the research process on the trails in the area. Since we know kind of where we can camp..... 2 miles out or at the lake.

I won't be able to make that weekend....If it was the weekend prior maybe but let me see if I am able to move things around.

I need to find a sitter for my pup. I would bring her but she hates other animals so I would rather not deal with the headache.

I added a little more info to original post. Didn't intend to kill the trip, just wanted to add some pics and trail insights to let first timers know a bit more about the area. There are only a couple sections that would test a 2wd, and those sections looked doable with a driver taking his time and having other rigs front and rear to assist if needed. Have 1 4x4 keep farther ahead of the 2wd's to make sure no downhill traffic is coming, eliminating worry of a 2wd having to navigate a vehicle passing in the sections with no turn outs. Walkie Talkies would be good. The very last turn before arriving at the lake, the hairpin that drops down the last 200 or so yards is the only section that is a bit steep and could be slippery driving back up it in 2wd. Here I think proper speed and smart/calm driving will be needed. The 2wd's could also just park at the turnout above the hairpin section and walk down that steep section and enjoy a day playing around the lake then head back to a campsite in the forest near Sherwin Rd. The drive time isn't too bad, I think an hour or less going back to trail head by the sign at Sherwin Rd.
I would find it hard to be camping so close to that cool scenery and not try to get as far as the last turnout. Lots of turn around spots if too uncomfortable of a trail, No shame in being safe/smart.
Good luck and have a safe trip!

Damn this sounds super exciting! Especially if we have several rigs going! Looks like I better hurry up and order my @Shmellmopwho sliders.

I have a decent lift and sliders but no skids. Are skids a must for this trail or would decent clearance and sliders be adequate?

You did not kill it, just rethinking some of the rigs coming and the drivers driving them... some have no armor and a lot of us have ifs skid and sliders and most are just starting their dirt experience and some just don't dgaf. So good looking out.
