Just confirming before purchase, this kit comes with every single thing needed? The switch that comes, is it a push button or does it come on when the tailgate is opened?

You get a push button switch, unless you specify to @mattgecko that you want a pressure switch then he can add that to the order. He has clear instructions, and everything you need except your own tools and brain. If you have any mechanical ability whatsoever, then you'll be just fine. If you don't, have a friend work with you. A fun project that shows great and useful results when done. It took me about an hour and a half, but I was in no rush at all and like a tight finish with the wires...so I was under the truck a lot lol...

The pressure switch would be good so the lights come one when you open the tailgate but only if it can be switched off if you are running at night with the tailgate open. I like the pressure switch option but only if it works like that.

This is the 2nd gen, 3rd gen requires a special slim pin switch. I have them in stock.

Is it additional $ for that option? And just to clarify, that tailgate pin switch will turn the lights on automatically when the tailgate comes down but also has the option to turn them off while the tailgate is down?

That's what I remember you posting Matt. Thank you!

Edit - removed most of my post because @Technique asked the question I was going to ask.

The slim pin switch is $10. Yes, The bed mounted switch would disable the tailgate switch.

Oh, so I would have two separate switches if I went that route? Sorry for all the questions:oops:
