    I currently have:
    Fox 2.5 front w/resi
    LR UCA
    Fox 2.0 rear w/resi
    HS 3-AAL with overload removed.

On road the ride difference is definately noticable. Insteading of ‘hitting’ bumps on the road, I feel like the truck goes over them nice and smooth. The rear feels a little stiffer, but I was told to expect that with the AAL. Braking is a lot smoother as my front end doesn’t dip forward as much as it did with my sport suspension.

I haven’t done any serious offroading yet, but dirt trails are a lot smoother. My front end is a lot more responsive to whoops and holes.

I did have an issue with my swaybar hitting my skid plate brackets due to the swaybar relocation kit. I removed my swaybar to fix this. I believe @RangerComa added washers to his skid brackets to fix this issue.

I went back and forth deciding if I wanted to go cheaper with a Bilstein 5100/OME setup, but ultimately went with Fox with no regrets. Good luck.

Perfect response! I have a sport as well and am also looking for the same results that you have... I started off the same way also.. wanting to just go with some bilstein 5100’s but now am leaning towards the fox’s... do you have any pictures with the lift?

Adding bumpers and more weight will affect how much lift you can get out of those coilovers comfortably. If you plan on adding more accessories, then a different setup or longer spring will be necessary.
but a stock truck with just the suspension will ride and perform beautifully. Fyi

If you mostly use your truck for commuting and don’t plan to do serious off roading why spend the big $ on serious off road suspension? The 5100’s are serving me real well and I go off roading in some real fun places here in California. When the 5100’s wear out maybe I’ll be willing to drop $3500 on an extended length coil-over system, but until then I’m sure getting a lot of good use out of the “cheap” 5100’s.

Better to think seriously about your use and needs and modify for that.

The big reason for me not going with the 5100’s is because I hear from plenty of people that I’ll have them and then just want more.. I’m kinda looking to just spend the money once on a decent coilover. Definitely appreciate the input though

I’ve road in a few Tacomas with 5100’s and the ride wasn’t that different from stock. I’d say if you’re looking for just lift, then 5100. I was looking for lift and ride quality. Not trying to turn this into a Fox vs Bilstein debate.

He has a sport, which didn’t come with Bilsteins. The 5100’s ride pretty similar to the stock O/R suspension, maybe a little less nose dive imho, but it is definitely going to be different than the Sport suspension.

Once again thanks for the input. Pretty positive I’ll be pulling the trigger within the next few weeks on them. Might wait to try and catch a Memorial Day sale.

I’ve bought from Headstrong, and have a Fox kit. Are you going extended travel?

Soon: full armor, roof top tent...
I've got the same kit. I had headstrong swap the stock fox springs (600lb 13 inch) for a 650lb 14 inch spring. I have hardly any threads showing, and last time I measured I was at 2.5 inches of lift up front.

Truck drives amazing on street and offroad. I've blasted it a little offroading and it just eats everything up. Lots of fun.

Honestly 5100s vs a fox setup isn't much different on the road, I would say the difference is negligible.
Now offroading at higher speeds you will notice almost immediately after the 5100s heat up from constant cycling.

I'm with @JoeRacer302 no need for performance shocks when you dont use them for their application.

Now I would recommend the 6112/5160 for your application, it's best of both worlds for the money and ride quality.

What you are looking to get is way overkill for your needs, but who cares, it's a sweet sweet setup and it will ride like a Cadillac. Do it!

Hey man, just putting this out there. I know HS has a good rep around here, but I saved myself almost 10% in taxes by ordering out of state. My Icons were about a $200 savings just from tax alone.
I only say this cause it looks like you live in Cali.

I agree with this!!! If you absolutely want a fox setup, just get the stage 2 or 3. For "Mild off-roading" No reason to have resi up front unless your mobbing your truck on washboard roads and racing in the desert.

BUY WHAT YOU NEED NOT WHAT YOU WANT, unless you got money like that then make it rain on your truck :spending:. If you want them IG likes!! Do it for the gram!!

I will say having a resi in the rear are way more important cuz they take way more abuse especially if they're a 2.0 setup.

I would recommend the 6112/5160 setup as well but their backorderd to Julyish. They're becoming the standard for offroad enthusiast in the truck market. No comparison to the 5100s and OME setups as the 6112 are a 60mm piston with a 2.65mm body and 5160 have a rear resi. Don't buy this setup if you want a huge lift, you can only get 2" max. Other reason is if you don't like a digressive setup vs the fox progressive setup.

Good luck! Either way you'll be happy to replace the stock setup.
