    Yea when I got my 6lb tank I did some research and talked to guys like @jAndyMendo who carry propane tanks. Consensus was it’s not illegal and a placard is not needed. I have yet to have any issues and it’s mounted on the swing arm 24/7.

    No placard needed as long as you aren't transporting for commerce. Same goes for oxygen, acetylene, etc.

    Larger RVs can have 2 100# tanks on them. They go thru design certification in oredrr to be manufactured and sold.
