I wonder if they will update injectors later... they are pretty loud.

    OP UPDATED
    https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0..._Flash_Manager_V1.09R.exe?2908210469589275250

Flash Manager version 1.09R (Revised) released
    - extensive code clean up
    - Complete tune package downloads *currently supports only auto on 1.09R*
    - compiles in a single zip : current version tunes for ECU / TCU (if applicable) and OEM files of that ECU ID

    New Function - Update Checker
    - Allows you to login to my server folder to download updates directly
    - Creates a decryption key to allow access to update server folder
    - All Flash Managers from this point forward will have version in the file name along with bottom of application

    Update example:
All future flash manager updates will be found in this update folder

    - instructions will be updated to reflect this soon

I understand this is not the most ideal way to update, but it is going to be the easiest because Flash Manager is not a complete installer package but rather just a direct application
click Tools > Update Flash Manager

    click > Get Decryption Key

    Click > Check Update Folder

    Download newest version

No the injectors noise is not the issue. The fuel pump has a distinct annoying and somewhat embarrassing chirpy derpy noise

    You
Do you mind posting a quick down and dirty “how to”?

I’m planning on installing my tune as soon as I get home from work.

Has nothing to do with warming up. It’s after driving it. I’ve had it happen twice on 1.03. Haven’t seen it yet on 1.04. I really think it had to do with the throttle position commands. Same reason the tip in was so aggressive on 1.03. No harsh tip in = no surging while backing up.

After downloading and extracting Flash Manager, double click the file. You should get a pop-up to “run” the program...that’s it. Select run and a small window will open from which you download your tune files.

It was a start up, put it in D, and creep into the garage. You're not wrong but modern vehicles do not surge when trying to hold a initial high idle rpm to warm up the converters. That's the only reason for the high idle. It's emission requirements to get the converters warmed up as soon as possible. Nothing else.

Regarding the Manual Trans...I don't want to get the thread too off topic but for me, it is a horrible experience. I've driven stick shifts for 20 years across many platforms and this one is just bad.

    From a stock experience:

The shift knob is horrible (OR or PRO (yes that can be replaced).
The long vague throws are horrible.
    Reverse is horrible to engage.
2nd gear ratio is too tall.
Reverse gear ratio is way too tall.
Clutch is vague and horrible engagement under 32* temps.
Throttle response (oem tuning) is utterly garbage and makes it almost impossible to drive.
Drive-train lash and clunks are just pathetically bad.
Hit a bump and the shifter goes all wild shaking back and forth because of the pathetic trans mounts.
    Did I mention the clunks???

It just led to a horrible driving experience. Really disappointed that Toyota approved this setup for production.

Manual trans vehicles need engines that are smooth and willing to rev or have good amount of low end torque.

This engine in this truck does neither. No torque and the gearing is so tall that revving it out is unpleasant on top of sounding and feeling like you're blending a can of marbles.

That was enough to wash my hands of the Pro after 4 months. I need a truck and can't fit a full size in my garage so Tacoma it is. The OR Auto has already lowered my stress level a great deal when driving. No clanks or bangs from the drivetrain and yes, the stock tune wasn't great, but as much as everyone complains, it was no where near as bad as the manual. The only thing good about the manual is you decide when you shift.

I think you're the only person out there who feels that having a manual does not alleviate the terribleness of the oem tune. In my experience and from what I've seen plenty of others report, having the manual is a huge step above the AT woes. But to each their own

Congrats! On-time release (ahead of schedule actually)! Looks like a good improvement to make it easier for folks to get the latest.

There are Pro's and Con's to each. To me, the cons of some strange shifting with the auto are way less vs. the entire manual driving experience. I voted with my wallet so that's all that matters.

    Now back to the show....

This can occur as well but if the truck is put into D immediately after startup you will get power surging. This is just a characteristic of many vehicles. My Subaru does it too. If I start it and immediately put in D. It will drive itself up the driveway and into the garage without any gas applied because it warms the engine with high RPMs, this is basically simulated gas pedal.

Interested. Will wait for owner in the Denver area to report. Should be a killer setup with my 4.88's.
