Anyone experienced this, my mileage indicator states that I'm getting upto 25 miles per gallon. It used to be pretty dead on at about 20 MPG. Anyone know if I would need to reset computer or take it to the dealer? Like I said up until about two weeks ago it was right on the money, I have done nothing exterior like a lift but even then I would think I would of lost mileage not gained it, any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance....

Have you checked it the old fashioned way? Mine will actually get 25 if I keep it around 65 mph.

I never ever use, or look at that useless computer on any of my cars/truck. Only do it the right way (Old Fashion way), due the math at fill-up.

Not trying to say”look what I get” but it is possible to get halfway decent mpg. The first pic was on flat ground in south ga and north fla. The second was from cookville tenn to south of Atlanta, mountains and flat. Cruise does help with the mpg.
That being said I usually get 20 or just a little better when driving around town. Put my foot in it and it does drop. I didn’t buy the truck to save gas, my Yaris commuter car is for that. Both trips were over 250 miles.A4192D80-C1CA-494B-ADBE-75D95959E2B7.jpg 56DBA395-944F-4809-A990-03D5D73AA82B.jpg

Idk how you guys are getting this.... Ive never gotten over 16mpg.

Extremely frustrated considering I am going on a 4000 mile round trip to colorado this month. The gas expense is going to cost one ugly penny.

Well, bed was empty and my ladder rack was off for both trips. Damn ladder rack drops it by a few just by itself. Truck was stock as well. Now that I have put a new rear bumper that may have an effect

Just a little FYI, these mpg stats from the manufacturer are from a flat test track at 45mph. Not even close to real world driving.

How do you get your MPG to show on the digital speed?

Scroll down with the buttons on the right side of steering wheel. Have to find it left to right first

Toyota and Subaru OBC's have been pretty accurate in my experience. The Tacoma is no different. I was within 2-3% of actual (Old Fashioned way).

I'm assuming you've hand calc'd it to make sure it actually is reading incorrectly, right?

I was getting 17-19 mpg all winter. It has now warmed up significantly and I'm pretty sure summer gas blend is here. I can now get 22-25 mpg on the way to work in the morning taking the same routes. On the way home with more traffic it's still about 20 mpg.

All I've done is pumped up the tires from 30 psi to 36 psi. I also didn't baby the truck off the lot. I did a semi hard break in of the engine to see if that would give more power and better fuel econ.

Here is some detail on how the 5 tests come into play. Since they changed their testing I have always been able to meet or come close to EPA ratings on multiple vehicles.

Just came back from opening day fishing and averaged 16mpg on the way home with 3 people and a German Shepherd in the truck. We were towing a 14' Lund with camping/fishing gear and my truck is lifted on 32" tires. Part of this trip is driving over a Mt. Pass on HWY 2.

I would say your driving style has more to do with it than the truck. Slow down and dont take of fast.

With the truck turned on and parked.
Scroll with the steering wheel controls to the settings on the far right of the display. From there you can scroll up/down and change settings. Like having the digital speed display and other settings too.

    Mine is always spot on.

18-19 mpg with 33's...could probably get into the 20's if I didn't have a heavy right foot and drive 80 mph on the highway.

i suspect your front and rear bumper, winch, RTT, bed rack, and who knows what else you've weighed your truck down with is probable cause for 16 mpgs. but that's just a guess.
