    That’s one option.

I think the point he was conveying was that higher productivity does not always dictate higher raises. Certainly, lower productivity usually is indicative of or can lead to lower margins. However, the idea that higher or better raises will come on the heels of higher productivity is dead, and has been for a long time. It’s a symptom of the myoptic and self-destructive strategy that dominates American companies.

As long as companies do everything for quarterly earnings and shareholders, nothing of substance will be done for the employees.

Operations: wearing out the soles of their boots heels first.

So sayth the wise old grey bush.

"Target" alludes to a surgical strike on small areas, I would require a carpet-bomb approach. :p

Work with our knowledge to avoid a lot of grunt work.

Mechanics make less in our organization. And they get fewer days off.

Theyre in the middle pay wise from our lowest operator to our STL, but our senior mech has been here since the plant open and with his raises and certs he's making alittle over 45 i believe.

Mechanics get fewer days off according to the schedule but operations gets call outs a lot over here so it doesn't always work out right. I could be on operations if I wanted to here but would take a pay cut and hour cut which is a no go for me

Depends on why you're asked to be presentable. ;)

If it's for safety reasons, they certainly can require it, if it's cause you look like a homeless transient that snuck onto the site, and grabbed a welding rod, then probably not.

It's for safety but it's a dumb system. The plant we work at/for, does medical monitoring once a year for its employees. We are contractors tho so we don't have insurance or need the medical monitoring

But now they want us to do it for the face mask/respirators butttt you can grow a beard again after the test which is stupid cause what if you have to wear the mask 4 months after your test and your beard is back? Pointless.
