Think a needle scaler would work?

oh. I am not sure. Probably. The metal underneath is not in bad condition. I just want to remove the powdercoat because its chipping. I will be priming and spray painting myself after.

That thing reminds me of the dentist. Actually gives me chills

Shit is expensive here. To send stuff to PC, i have gotten quotes where its cheaper to do line-x

I originally paid $400. I guess it was ok, since it lasted this long. From August 2016

Rattle can spray paint lasts forever. I rattle can over scratched, dinged, scraped, bare or rusty spots many times a year. It's easy to blend in with black. White paint, i'm not sure.

Powdercoat. One and done. Really done. One scratch into the metal, water/salt intrudes and corrosion sets in and PC layers peel off. Less than 2 years later, need to sandblast and redo. We're in the wrong part of the country to be doing powdercoat.

So are you guys saying that painting armor is better than having it powder coated? Cant you just touch up the powder with some paint when it gets dinged up?

You can spray over it, but it will never be the same. Spray paint armor definitely! Front bumper maybe not, but rear is subject to rock chips.

The powdercoat on my front bumper from @Pelfreybilt is still holding up!

I wouldn't PC in the NE. Roads are liberally salted.

Powder coat would be fine if you paid attention to every scratch and laceration before any corrosive intrusion, cleaned and sealed it as soon as it happens.

My opinion. Based on my experience.

I know it shows that they are used. But after applying heat, and trying to touch up, it still looks burned. Would rather touch up with spray paint than have burn marks

yeah i agree. i used the spray paint bedliner actually. simple to do and store a can for a quick fix if thats your fancy.

i feel that they will get bent out of shape before rust ever destroys them though

Also, probably like a wound, if you just cover up and not clean, then it will spread under the first layer

I used the same stuff on my ATO IFS skid. I did two coats of primer, followed by two coats of the rustoleum rubberized spray coating. Held up really well. But I didn't do much rock crawling with it though.
