Food for thought... every outting i've had has involved CB communication issues... consider GPS walkie talkies.. they go much further and have far less failure points. just a thought...

Good point, last year I bought some Midland T71VP3 as a last-ditch emergency before heading out on a WABDR trip with @mutilatedjak and @Benson X. They had really nice range, the clarity might have been better than CB, and they could still operate while being charged over micro USB. If I had a choice, I'd use the 2-way over the CB. Smaller, more portable, no squelch to mess with. I'll have both and might play with testing range on this trip.

DAMN this seems fun! I might sign up, if I get all the recovery gear in time.
Got a question about towing if worse comes to worse. Are there actually tow companies that'll pull you out @ Browns camp?

I was out there a month ago and saw a Jeep getting towed from browns to the hwy at the entrance of the park....if that helps. That was with 1-2 ft of snow in places.

You can get your truck airlifted if the price is right. You'd want to at least get friends to get you onto the service road.
That said, no one I've been with has needed to get a tow truck. Don't be the first, or if you do, make it epic.

Weren't you at Tahuya when both Dora and that other guy (who later had his Yoda stolen (forgot his name)) had to be towed?

In honor of pulled pork, I'll eat it.

The other guy borrowed my driveline and drove home. I was already fucked with a blown rear diff so got towed.

Cool, I might be up for this. My buddy has a 1st gen Tacoma that might be down for this too. No way I'm doing any hard trails until I get sliders and what not. Just planning for the worse just in case ya never know...

I guess I was only thinking of TSF. Even with Tahuya, you guys made it to the service road, even Ben's hydrolocked truck.

I've winched my buddy up the first part of fb5 after the bypass all the way to where it meets the rock garden. Let's say, if you have a problem...we can get you to a gravel road lol.

Stoked to see all your pretty faces again this year - still bummed I missed out on last year's shenanigans :pout:

Let me express my enthusiasm using pictures from previous TSF events (thanks to @RogueTRD and @stikle for taking these pics):
