I would seriously make the owner of this Ford Explorer Sport Trac an offer on this license plate advertising my favorite radio station!

Another Bryant, also a straight-cool unit and probably about 15-16 years old...

And two more Bryants, probably 2009-2011ish. These two are heat pumps...

Here we see five brand new Luxaire straight-cool units at the recent church-to-house residential conversion on South Main...

NOTE: Luxaire is one of several brand names slapped on virtually identical HVAC products by a company called Johnson Controls. The most recognizable and well-known brand is York, which is also probably the most expensive brand. The most common brand after York and Luxaire is Coleman (same Coleman famous for camping equipment, especially lanterns; I think Johnson Controls just pays Coleman for the rights to use the name though). Johnson Controls also manufactures builder-grade products under the Guardian brand...

    That's oddly specific...

I had a dream last night I was piloting a plane...

All the passengers were drunk and insane...

We crash-landed in the Louisiana swamp...

The second unit from the right in this photo is a fairly new Guardian. The one on the far right is an old Goodman or Janitrol unit, the one on the left closest to where I am standing is a low-end Lennox (possibly an Aire Flo-branded unit). Next to the Lennox is a refer/freezer compressor, next to it is a 2006-present Payne, and way off in the distance is a 2003-2004ish Goodman...

A 2006-2009ish Bryant unit (straight-cool A/C, but forget what model) installed practically on a public sidewalk. It belongs to an older commercial building, and space was limited, so they had to improvise on where they installed it...

The Nordyne straight-cool central A/C pictured below is one of two precariously installed units at a mixed-use commercial/residential building...

The first floor is home to a bar and a clothing store. The basement is also rented by the same bar, and those all have their own unseen A/C units. This unit and other Nordyne products from that era (2003-2008...?) are absolute junk in my opinion, though well-installed and properly-maintained units can easily last over a decade. My friend has a Gibson 2.5-ton straight-cool unit (similar to the Tappan heat pump you used to have @Plain Jane Taco ) installed in either 2003 or 2005, and it is still going strong.

The Nordyne seen in this picture, and the Goodman/Janitrol unit I will be posting a picture of momentarily, belong to 2nd floor apartments in this building. Even with a robust scroll compressor, I am amazed this Nordyne is still around. The tenant runs this thing even when it's below freezing outside and it freezes absolutely solid!

And here's the Goodman/Janitrol unit, which only seems to be running when it's hot out...

I know the owner of the property, I got permission from him to film both units, and I have footage of both defrosting!

    @Plain Jane Taco

So, I've literally been wandering construction sites and taking pictures for more than a decade, and as long as I stayed away from potentially hazardous areas, nobody cares!

So, I went back to this house after the construction crew had gone home for the evening. I had no reason to believe anybody, especially the owner, was home. After all, the air-conditioners had just been installed and the house does not appear to be finished.

Imagine my shock when I took a chance and went for a closer look at those glorious Bryant Evolution heat pumps, Tully in tow, and seconds later this woman (the owner shows up and asks what I'm doing...

This story has a happy ending, and instead of getting into a confrontation, I ended up making a friend!
