What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Sweet. I’m about done with installing mine.

 

Replaced my drivers door handle , charged my ac and removed my Snug Top tonneau cover . Sorry no pics today .

 

So i know technically a white lithium grease is best on our TC poly bushings but does lithium based grease work too or will that damage the poly as well? Also what type of grease is everyone running In their driveline ujoints? I’ve been running ngl#2 red tacky

 

Well my WW fluid tank leaks and the meth gets injected too quickly but the kit is in.

Yup, I knew when I heard it that it was NOT going to be good. But, this is the worst one I've seen too. Apparently letting her know about the police report did some good. Got a call from American Family this morning and got it all set up. Now just worried about getting "my old junk trunk" fixed "right".

You will have to set the spay boost points to start when your motor needs the extra fuel

 

I'm pretty sure you can only be ticketed for uncovered aux lights if they're above the level of your headlights (like ditch pods, roof rack lights, etc.)...at least that's what I was told.

 

Yeah I know haha. I can tell it’s not pulling timing anymore though so that’s nice.

 

Make sure you are using a #2 nozzel and 50/50 to start. Once you get everything dialed in it will
be good to go for many miles and NO pinging.

 

I’m running the #3 with a little less than 50/50. I’m at sea level.

 

Ok but 3 is too big I think, too much fluid I think, try the 2 nozzel after the 3 nozzel.

 

Auxiliary Lamps: Off-Highway Use

CA Vehicle Code 24411: Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a vehicle may be equipped with not more than eight lamps for use as headlamps while the vehicle is operated or driven off the highway. The lamps shall be mounted at a height of not less than 16 inches from the ground, or more than 12 inches above the top of the passenger compartment, at any place between the front of the vehicle and a line lying on a point 40 inches to the rear of the seat occupied by the driver, shall be wired independently of all other lighting circuits, and, whenever the vehicle is operated or driven upon a highway, shall be covered or hooded with an opaque hood or cover, and turned off.

Do you happen to know what diameter of spare you have under your truck? Or trucks I guess.

If they’re factory anyway.

 

God damn it.

I put down a layer of clear coat on my nice shiny and freshly painted panel and it started bubbling up for some reason. Now I have to wait for it to dry and redo it.

 

That's not so random

 

The truck came from the dealership with the upgraded/bigger diameter tires than what it says on the VIN sticker. The spare is a 15” steelie with a P265/75R15 tire. It was never used, somehow it still has the green paper dealer sticker on it. I think the truck is supposed to be equipped stock with P235/75R15 tires according to the VIN sticker.

 

I don’t understand why I have a 16” wheel back there. Why would someone change that.

I’m almost 100% positive it’s 16.

 

You think so? I’m running at sea level and I’m upgrading pulley size as soon as I can lol

 

I don’t think these trucks came with 16” wheels stock before 2001. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
