Out of curiousity, what is your definition of an overlander? Im always interested in hearing the latest description.

Not enough man...been busy with a lot of random events lately. I want to go down to SC sometime this summer and Jersey as there tends to be some fun action around there.

How long do you have to do it for we take our scouts into the backcountry of AK every other yr. In a big ol Express 4500 converted 15 pas. bus and are completely self reliant. Does that make our scout troop an overlanding scout troop.

Unless they can all drive...then no they are just survivalists.

    Still bad ass though.

@ilubtimmyhos did a solar setup on his truck, looks very nice.
I was coming back from NC several weeks back, and passed a tesla model S pulling a small camper trailer. The trailer was plastered with solar panels on the front and top. I am guessing they somehow fed back into the tesla through the wiring harness to help charge the batteries.

But what about guys wives and such are they the same :anonymous:. I've got pics of my scouts building natural shelters and stuff. Plus they are badass at navigation. BSA policy won't let you drive on an event until you're 21.
Yeah we are on the road for over a month and in AK for almost 2 wks.

Remember, the essence of the "overlander" is they have the varied skill set to handle "anything" behind the wheel as well as the environment. Im sure when these kids start wheeling, they will hopefully fulfill the dream to become one.

I do regret never joining BSA as the skill sets they develop to mastery is priceless and helps creates natural leaders in rough situations.

We've driven the Dalton Hwy all the way to the artic for the boys to "swim". One yr backpacked and camped all throughout the Denalli. We just get there then decide what to do.
