    Appreciate the honesty.

Based on rough estimates for sizing and the materials they listed, I'd say Mobtown's price is really good. Material alone costs $600+ per set; then you have to factor in welding costs, machining costs, bend the tubing expenses, and bending the mount plate. I don't think a lot of people realize that it's not that cheap to do all of that and maintain good quality.

You're very close to being correct in the material cost.

Labor is another big factor that drove the cost up. Takes a lot longer to weld aluminum than it does steel. Takes a lot of heat to weld aluminum and if you're not careful you will have the parts warp.

Where'd you get the $600. number from?

Figured you need around 20 feet of 2" square aluminum tubing with 3/16" wall thickness — that's approximately $210. Then figure another 20' of 2" round tubing with same wall thickness — another $220. Then you need probably two pieces of 1'x4'x0.25" 5052 for mount plate — $220. Add that up you get $650. So I was wrong $650 not $600

Granted as a business I would never pay retail price, so I think I could buy this cheaper if I bought in bulk. However not like $100 per unit cheaper, maybe $20-$50 cheaper. Then you need to add tooling cost, time, machining, labor which is expensive for a skilled aluminum welder. I think they're justified in their asking price.

Hahaha yeah they're probably thinking "damn, what caused this sudden spike in demand?"

I was thinking about buying a set too but I'm being good and sticking to my budget.

When I called to order they had a "few" in stock in their PA warehouse and no backorder email yet. :fingerscrossed:

MBRP in Canada just told me they don't have any in stock either, and the turnaround time for them to make these sliders is about 1 month.

I'll reserve judgement till I get the sliders installed...but $578 shipped is really a fantastic deal.
