I like your style, unfortunately for me I set myself up in life with a career hard to take that kind of time off an wife also she don’t like anything more than 2 nights but enjoys while we are doing it. She’s also loves our day trips round our parts though there is not much.
When I retire plan is to try to go from Texas/Mexico border to AK in a truck no plans just do as we please. In my young single army days I used to go on cross country trips on the bike had a blast.

I had a career turning wrenches that was like that and hated living to work so I made a lot of changes so I just earn money to live. Plus kiddo loves doing it with me so bonus there. I know a guy who is biking across the US starting up in Maine going to the southern terminus of the PCT. That biking stuff is no joke either!

I’m sorry there’s nothing worth me going to Jersey. I’ve spent too much time there already

That’s a good story I love what I do though an it’s all I know. My GI bill has expired also don’t have the desire to learn a new trade good thing the wife makes good money. We have no kids but I take my nieces every chance I get.
Riding thru the SW at 75 when it’s 105 plus an your all covered up ain’t no fun with hot oil just 3in from all 4 points of contact.

I saw a trail or two that I am willing to drive up for. Don't get me wrong, I think Jersey is in line with Baltimore as far as city life which I think is quite gross. But they have some back wood spots that I think would be up my ally for getting dirty.

That would be the plan. We want to hit the OV expo also and some of the other off-road places down that way. We’re just trying to get the camper to where we don’t need campgrounds first. Of course now I’m trying to get some stuff done the house needs a roof and I need my hvac system checked out shut nevercends

That was my MOS in the Army. I started as a tower controller and crossed over to radar. I was a tactical controller I spent more time in the field than the infantry did. Didn’t work out in civilian life though even though I passed my FAA exam

They had no jobs in my area. We bought a house and a few months after moving in I got a job offer for Atlanta. I thought no way we just moved in and got settled. Hind sight being what it is I should’ve told my wife to pack up and move in with her mom and when I got out of the academy she could have come down to Atlanta and we’d have started over. Instead I chose a path that’s tearing my body apart. Oh well life goes on until it doesn’t. How old? If you don’t mind I’m in the 50 thread here it’s a great bunch of folks

Dang man tough break. I literally have had to move from TX to NC got laid off then to CA an finally got a job back in here TX. Wife stayed here the whole time . I’m not old by any means I’m 34 but to old for a federal job, 31 is the max age hire unless your retired military which is not the case with me. Totally happy where I’m at good company an nice facility which we are always busy. 3 flight schools an the military always rolls in.

Not much of a mod, really, more of just an upgrade or replacement. Since I removed the Eurolife led pods from the front bumper I was using as fogs and installed them on the camper.

I replaced them with a pair of Caliraised amber pods. I panicked at first because the lenses are clear but they really are amber.

Cheap? Do you wanna camp? Or do you wanna CAMP!? I say don't go half assed, if you're gonna do it go whole assed! Camping in style ain't cheap but it's fun!

No idea on what the latest def for overlander is, but I have met the definitive Broverlander once

That's all we do, camp. In style. Show quality, great food, and good wine......

Overlanders spend too much time driving and not enough time camping......

As usual you hit the nail on the head again. I have not cheated out on anything, yet because I want it to last and function properly. Sometimes I just get a little sticker shock but it’s worth every penny

Nope another members just a small chop but I made my own plates and changed up how I fitted them so there’s no distinct transition from the remaining portion of the cab mount to the new metal. I’m just playin and trying to get used to this new welder
