That seems like a good option for the $$..I had a lot of help from a friend who owns a shop that does many things, wraps included..not a lot of work but requires a little pre-planning etc...he had a 5' roll of material that I used..

it required 2 people to set it in place etc....

Oh man, that sucks. Hope you're okay and hopefully the F150 driver was well insured and your Tacoma can be fixed as good as new, if not replaced with your vehicle of choice. If the latter I hope you can get to take all of your mods and stereo to the new vehicle.

I have been fighting a moisture problem in the engine all winter. All the threads I read on tan colored foam in the filler neck say it is due to cold weather and short drives. I drive 70 miles a day and I was still getting consistent foam in the filler neck most of the winter. I was not losing coolant/oil and the truck runs like new. there was no foam on the dipstick and coolant looks clean. other than the visual foam in the filler neck I had no indication of an issue.

things I have done to give myself peace of mind....

    1) added a oil catch can (from ebay). This was no big deal to add and has caught a fair amount of stuff. when the temps were in the 20's (not long ago) I caught fluid. it seems like 40 degrees is the cutoff. once the morning temps got around 40 the moisture and foam went away. Adding a catch can did nothing to help the problem, it just increased my stress level.

    2) replaced the oil filler cap. This made a huge difference but with so many variables like temp... who knows. I replaced the cap around the time the temps went up to 40. I will say this, the old cap felt odd when I tightened it down. the new cap feels much better. Also, do not buy an aftermarket one for $8, go to the dealer or get an OEM one for a few dollars more.

    3) changed the oil and had it analyzed at Blackstone. The results came back and looked good. I have a slightly high iron content which I will keep an eye on. They are a great group of people. they called me a talked over the results. I went from Mobile 1 to Valvoline High mileage this last oil change (I have 145,000 miles). I will have this oil analyzed at 5000 miles to see how things are holding up and whether I stay with Valvoline. I recommend getting your oil analyzed. it was easy and inexpensive ($28)... and fun to see the results. I feel better about my truck knowing that the engine is in good shape.

I have also been chasing around a decrease in fuel mileage since the fall.... as with most of you I can't stop tinkering with the truck so who knows why this is.... To try to get my mileage back I (1) changed my plugs, (2) got rid of k&n filter and went back to paper, (3) cleaned MAF, (4) changed oil, (5) changed PCV valve, (6) added the oil catch can. None of these made a difference at the time I did them. It seems to me that my truck is very susceptible to winter fuel (more so than my wife's 4runner). I will admit that in the fall I replaced Cooper 285 with Cooper 255.. I did not expect this to have an overall impact since they are both heavy and aggressive. I also added a Leer cap in February.

To sum up... I need to stop looking at my oil filler neck after October and my truck drops 2to3 MPG in the winter, deal with it...

Now it is on to fixing some persistent rust on my rear bumper...

W8nter months builds extra moisture in the filler neck. If the iron in the oil sample is low it might come from the refinery. Seen that on alot if samples done at work, I would look for bronze tin or Cooper. Winter gas is not as good as Sumer gas. Replace the rear bumper with a solid steal bumper.

Got the full size 255/80/17 mounted in the stock location. Took a bit of 'massaging' did'nt even have to give it a happy ending.

How hard was it changing to the extended lines? I have a set of stainless braided lines that have been sitting in my garage for about 6 months. I haven't built up the courage to do it yet. I have a trip to Colorado planned for July and really wanna get them done before then.
