XL Boosted Yaris build

Yeah. I know the trd tune does it. When it reads 0 psi the blower is flowing air but not enough restriction to build “boost”. It only happens at lower rpm going up hills. I’ll have to get a video and send it to Mat, it’s not really something he could mess with on the dyno.

 

Is this to the wheels?

 

He should be able to simulate it on the dyno. He should be able to simulate the hill by having resistance added to the drum. At least we were able to do that on our bike dyno when I was working at a performance shop. Either way I'm excited. Glad you don't have any regrets or complaints about doing it and hopefully he can really dial in some tunes when he gets all set up at his new shop

A little late, but I installed my CSF Racing Radiator a little while ago. 100% satisfied with it so far. It keeps my temperatures down, and when they do heat up they come right back down unlike with my stock radiator.
Only pics I got of it, didn't get any installed pics sadly.



Also installed the TRD Pro Faux grille because why not.


And today, I installed a Hypertech Inline Speedometer calibrator.
Back to reading 2 MPH fast just like stock was (At 50+ MPH).

Holding off on any major mods right now, waiting for a few months to see how some things work out.

 

My local dealer needed a set of stock tires so I sold them mine.


Picked up some skids: Rci IFS and mid skin, and All pro transfercase skid. Talk about score.

 

Bigger 4runner brakes installed.
They give a little better stopping power. They should also reduce brake fade a lot since the rotors are a couple pounds heavier.

Going to install it in the bed to help power my Dometic CFX95. Should be arriving Wednesday a few hours before I leave on my trip to Nevada/Arizona. It’s going to be hot so some cold beverages and ice cream will be awesome to have!

 

If you put those bucket loader tires on your truck from the second post your truck will be cool enough to have a name

 

Where you heading in az?

 

At $2000/tire (and that is the cheap chinese tires) I think I will pass. It would be a monster truck at that point though. Would probably be as slow as a 3rd gen too

Mostly gonna be in Laughlin/Bullhead. Will probably visit Oatman and maybe look for some trails out around there. Never really explored much out there so I don’t know of too many cool spots.

 

Sooo....I'm also going to be in Laughlin next Wednesday thru Saturday. Probably going to take a drive through Christmas tree pass at some point as well as find a 4x4 route to get to the lake

 

I am going “offroad” to a cove. Its right by xmas tree pass. It gets super busy by friday. I wouldn’t consider it a 4x4 route tho, it’s maintained somewhat. Maybe we will bump paths, I ran christmas tree pass last year it was a nice little trail. Then went through some sketchy washes on the west side of the 95. Was super sketchy dark out no light bars and stock tires but I made it out of there lol. Thats actually where most of the pin stripes on my passenger side are from

 

Probably the same cove I'm thinking of. Was pretty dandy the last time I went there which is why I said 4x4 lol. We're staying in Laughlin to relax, gamble a little and what not. But figured Take the truck and try to hit at least some dirt.

Did Laughlin to Barstow (popped out early in ludlow) off-road a few years ago and it was really run. 195 miles of dirt in 2 days. There's a lot to see out there, just not ideally in the middle of summer.

 

Yea if it’s the one off of the 163 and depending on which way you go there is 3 different coves to visit, if you stay on the main path it leads to the big one where most people go. It would be nice to find a cove with out bees but I haven’t been so lucky.
I only plan on camping one night then I am going to retreat to the hotel to sleep the rest of the days lol.

The long offroad trip sounds like a blast. I’ve heard there is also a barstow to las vegas but I haven’t found anywhere with a map of it.

Anyway if you see my truck I am sure I won’t be too far away, just look for the human like object that is whiter than the truck, or depending on the day I usually turn more of a lobster color by the 2nd or 3rd day.


Also the dirt road to Oatman is easy but pretty fun. I gotta check out some of the other trails that lead off of it, there seemed to be a lot of them.

 

Never done the road to oatman so I may do a little searching and see if we are interested in checking it out.

But I will for sure keep an eye out for you and you do the same for me. Day 2 or 3 I may match the color of my truck lol

 

Silver creek road is the trail to Oatman. There’s donkeys in Oatman so its always cool to go visit.
